Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Dictator is being planned for January 14th release as Sankranthi Special. The shooting of the film is already complete and the post production works are also happening at brisk pace.

It is said that the Regional Censor Board in Hyderabad had allotted a slot for the movie on 7th of this month. Dictator is the prestigious 99th film in the actor’s career. Anjali and Sonal Chauhan are the female leads.

Thaman is the music composer for this film and this is his first film with Nandamuri Balakrishna. Loukyam fame Srivas is wielding megaphone for this film. He is also the co-producer of this film which is being funded by Eros International.

Energetic Hero Ram who was bogged by back to back failures in the recent times, finally staged a comeback. His latest release, Nenu Sailaja finally helped Ram to stage a comeback. Nenu Sailaja had amassed a whopping 4.34 Crore share on its day one.

The rivalry between Devineni and Vangaveeti families decades ago, panned out in to a war between two castes and took lives on both the sides. It was one of the stirring controversies in Andhra Politics.

Now Ram Gopal Varma had chosen this very same subject for his next movie. He announced that the film will be titled ‘Vangaveeti’ and will start from the rise of Radha and ends with the death of Ranga.

The ace director earlier made a film on the controversial Paritala Ravi – Maddelacheruvu Suri issue. But after a lot of sensation, he balanced the film with out taking any side. We will have to see what he is planning with Vangaveeti!

Despite four new releases, including that of Soukyam, the Box Office cash registers are refusing to ring. Gopichand hoped to repeat another Loukyam with Soukyam, but ended up with an unprecedented disaster. The film came with a bang and left with a whimper. It vanished even before the first week run.

Ditto with Mama Manchu Alludu Kanchu of Allari Naresh- Mohan Babu combo. The film couldn’t get even ordinary opening and never really picked up. Bhale Manchi Roju did get a positive talk, but sans star value, this crime comedy is refusing to look up. This film did better in the overseas market, but as for the local market, it couldn’t pick up..

Jatha Kalise too had average opening. There were no magical results for Sai Korrapati. Though Loafer did slightly better in the second weekend, it cannot be termed an overall success. This week two romantic entertainers – Nenu Shailaja and Abbayito Ammayi – were released. They do not have any competition till Sankranthi. So if even one of the two manages to do well, it will bring good tidings for Tollywood.
