Whenever there is an audio release of a star hero film, there is a lot of hype around it. But for ‘Nannaku Prematho’ the hype and expectations of its album reached its peaks. Mainly there are two reasons behind this. One is the magical combination of Sukumar and Devi Sri Prasad. This combo have a habit of coming up with one chartbuster album after another.

Recent film ‘Kumari 21F’ also was a huge hit. This is the sixth film coming in their combination. They also share a good rapport with each other and are good friends.

This film is the fifth film in combination of NTR and DSP who earlier teamed up for ‘Naa Alludu’, ‘Rakhi’, ‘Adhurs’ and ‘Ooseravelli’. All these films were musical hits and this will be the second time NTR will be singing in DSP’s compsition.

The first song ‘Chari’ was a super hit and this time it is ‘I Wanna Follow Follow You’. The audio is going to release tonight and hope that this time too it will be a hit album.

Small Films Sidelining These Two Big Films

Share

This week two small films competed with two big films. Many thought that these small films are taking big risk but finally they were proved wrong. Now the talk is that the number of theatres for these two small films is getting increased.

‘Soukyam’ and ‘Mama Manchu-Alludu Kanchu’ bagged most of the theatres leaving very less numbers to ‘Bhale Manchi Roju’ and ‘Jatha Kalise’.

But both big films got negative reviews and these small films got good response from critics and audience. All the theatres allotted to these big films are not having occupancy and leaving the buyers in losses.

As there are no releases this week and ‘Nenu Sailaja’ is getting released on Jan 1st, these small films are going to have a good business and make profits.

Megastar Against Aggressive Marketing Of Films

Mumbai: There is no need for an aggressive marketing of a film that has in itself the capability to do wonders at the box-office, megastar Amitabh Bachchan said in a blog on Sunday.

Bachchan, who is busy promoting his next film “Wazir”, said he does not understand why marketing is the most essential part in movie business.

“…marketing is the most essential part of the making of films. I am unable to understand why… If the film has inner strength, it shall require no (marketing) strength whatsoever,” Bachchan wrote. “…but because there are so many arguments against it, I feel if I oppose it, I would be, well going against the grind so to say.”

Produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, “Wazir” also stars Farhan Akhtar, Aditi Rao Hydari and Neil Nitin Mukesh. The film, directed by Bijoy Nambiar, is set to hit theatres on January 8.

‘Don’t Believe In Number Game’

Mumbai: “Bajirao Mastani” actress Priyanka Chopra doesn’t believe in the number game and hence refrain getting into the figures that her films collect at the box-office. “Numbers change every Friday, I’ve never believed in them,” she said here late on Friday. The number game has, of late, become a prominent trend in the Indian film industry, with the success of the flicks being defined on the basis of the money they manage to mint at the box office.

Her latest film, also starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, has been doing great business at the box-office, but despite the good numbers, she said: “I’m not the film’s producer so I don’t even go into numbers. “I don’t even try to think about it. I’m an artist and I want to do my job which is between ‘action’ and ‘cut’ and to promote the film…”

Priyanka, who has garnered praise for her portrayal as Kashibai in the movie, says playing the second female lead in the film has not affected her career.“At the beginning of my career, someone said there are no small roles, there are only small actors and I’m not a small actor. I believe tremendously in my capabilities.”

“I had only eight scenes in ‘Kaminey’ and I was just five years old in the industry at that time. Roles are never small or big… you should give your 100 percent always,” Priyanka said.

Varahi Chalana Chitram’s Jata kalisey produced by Naresh Ravuri in association with OAK entertainments seems to garner stupendous response after its worldwide release on 25th December. The overseas performance of this movie is also gaining positive talk. Jata kalisey can surely be touted as the final hit of the year 2015 from Varahi, is what industry sources say.

First time director Rakesh Sashii, teamed up with Ashwin and Tejaswi to give a road-comedy movie a rare genre in the Tollywood. Jata kaliseys’ comedy, the cinematography and dialogues seem to entertain the audiences and stood fist in the Christmas race.

The cast and crew of this film are elated to have a happy ending for the year with a sensational hit.

Trade pundits are predicting that the number of theatres for this film shall increase drastically, as the other films are not doing well at the box office. Sources say, impressed with the content of the movie the Tamil rights of this movie is in demand and shall be bought by a big banner.

I will never talk about remuneration

Speculations were rife that, actress Rakul Preet Singh demanded a whopping Rs 1.5 crore remuneration to star in Ram Charan’s Bruce Lee: The Fighter, which disappointingly ended as a disaster. Condemning the reports, the slender babe says, “All these reports of me claiming I was being paid a bomb are false.

I will never talk about remuneration.” Rakul Preet Singh says she wouldn’t mind getting paid more. And she reasons why, “Girls have those lengthy salon bills to take care of. And of course shoes, outfits and more! Our expenses are much more than the boys.”

Venkatadri Express and Loukyam were the only hits in Rakul’s career till date; still she is getting some plum offers in Telugu, since she is not against glamorous roles and is also a fine performer.

The actress starring in NTR’s Nannaku Prematho and Allu Arjun’s Sarainodu is willing to make her mark in Bollywood too with legendary filmmaker Ramesh Sippy directing Shimla Mirchi.

Usually, heroines will shift to Bollywood whenever they get good offers Hindi. “But seriously, it’s never been about Bollywood or Tollywood.

What really drives me is the love of being in front of the camera and I love being someone else in every project!” clarifies Rakul. Apparently, the answers classify how intellectual lady Rakul Preet Singh is.

Anger against India over blockade snowballs in Nepal

Share

nepal_2672226f

If anger could melt ice, Mount Everest would be standing bare and brown today — so angry are the people of Nepal with India. The four-month-old blockade of its border with India has pushed the erstwhile Himalayan kingdom back to the dark ages, with the acute shortage of fuel, cooking gas and other essential supplies crippling daily life; and its citizens, still recovering from two earthquakes and facing a harsh winter, unequivocally blame the manmade crisis on the government of India.

The blockade was imposed by the ethnic Madhesis inhabiting the southern plains of the country, who believe that the new constitution, adopted on September 20, does not give them fair representation in Parliament. And the layman in Kathmandu is convinced that the Madhesis have the backing of India, even though India denies having any role in their strike. “Whether children will go to school depends on whether the van will come to pick them. Whether the van will come to pick them depends on whether it has got diesel. Things have suddenly become so uncertain,” said Meena Adhikari, a homemaker living in Lalitpur.

“We have weathered many crises in the past — earthquakes, strikes called by the Maoists, the massacre of the royal family. But nothing this bad, nothing. This is the worst time for Nepal,” she said. Meena, incidentally, is headed for Chennai next week — for a pilgrimage tour of south India, tickets for which were booked online well before the blockade began. “Only yesterday, when my five-year-old niece came to know about our trip, she said, ‘Aunty, but why are you going to India? They are humiliating us.’ I asked her how did she know that, and she said that’s what they discuss in school these days,” she said.

If someone is happy in Nepal these days, it is the black marketeers. Petrol, which sold for 104 Nepali rupees for a litre, now sells for 500. An LPG cylinder, which cost 1435 rupees in normal times, now comes for 10,000 — if at all it is available in the black market. As a result, taxis have doubled their fares, prices of essential commodities have shot up, and meals — from kitchens in large institutions to humble homes — are being cooked on firewood. “The blockade has taken us 50 years back in time. It has caused far more suffering than the earthquake,” said Dev Dangi, a manager at the Kathmandu Guest House, one of Nepal’s better known hotels, which has seen a 35 percent dip in its occupancy this winter compared to last year.

The hotel has cut down on its menu, as have other hotels and restaurants, while many small eateries have shut, because cooking has gone back to its primitive ways — a painful process conducted over open fire. Many in Kathmandu called the shortened menu as ‘Modi-fied menu’, such is the hatred today against the man who had won the hearts of the Nepalese when he visited the country shortly after he took over as the Prime Minister of India.

At ten o’ clock on Christmas morning, I met Nirjana Sharma, a reporter with the Kathmandu-based daily Republica, at the Bir Hospital, Nepal’s oldest and one of the biggest hospitals. There, she led me to an open area next to the kitchen — the kitchen is under renovation after being damaged in the April earthquake — where, over two open fires, food was being prepared for its 300 patients.

Compromise Formula Between Abbayi and Babai Failed!

Share

balakrishna-ntr1451201488

The fight between Babai Bala Krishna and Abbai NTR is real. There will not be any postponement of Nannaku Prematho and Dictator. Though NTR and Kalyan Ram have tried for a compromise formula it didn’t work out, a source said.

Kalyan Ram tried his best to create a good understanding between his uncle Bala Krishna and NTR but the former star didn’t accept, the source added. Then NTR has decided to fight directly with Bala Krishna’s Dictator.

In the initial stages NTR was not sure about of competing with his uncle’s film and the tweet fiasco was result of this confusion. When Bala Krishna was on firm stand of not restoring relationship with NTR, then the Young Tiger with consultation of his father Hari Krishna has decided to release it for Sankranthi.

Hence there won’t be any last minute changes either, the sources tells us. Nannaku Prematho is being directed by Sukumar and is produced by BVSN Prasad. The film is set for release on 13th January 2016. Dictator is being produced and directed by Sri Wass and is slated for release on 14th January 2016.

Balayya Fans Afraid Of That Double Hat-Trick

Share

dictater1451197769

Till few days back Bala Krishna’s fans had a strong belief on winning the Sankranti race. But now they started worrying a bit and there is a lot of tension among them because of one reason. Kona Venkat is being a part of the film.

This writer was till now considered one of the most successful writers in Tollywood. But this star writer is now going through his worst period.

This year he scored 5 disasters in a row. All of them were crazy projects like ‘Akhil’, ‘Bruce Lee’, ‘Shankarabharanam’, ‘Tripura’ and recently ‘Soukyam’ . All failed miserably. ‘Soukyam’ which released this week was an outright disaster and not able to pull the crowds from the first day evening show itself.

The main reason behind this is monotonous screenplay, dialogues and routine story. Now Balayya fans are getting afraid that ‘Dictator’ will be joining this list. So will Kona miss the double hat-trick and make Balyya fans happy or score it.

Worst Climate Conditions In Hyd

Hyderabad is one of the best places to reside in. But, situations are not the same now due to uneven and worst weather conditions. With monsoon playing truant and meager rainfall recorded in Hyderabad and surrounding districts, there were no inflows into major reservoirs which cater to the drinking water needs of over 90 lakh population of Greater Hyderabad, Secunderabad (Cantonment) and villages and mandals of neighboring districts.

To add to their worries, irregular power cuts are compounding the problem as water from Krishna, Singur, Manjira which are 80-100 kms away, are failing to provide water to the city. As against the demand of 490 Million Gallons of water per day (MGD), the Hyderabad Metro Water Supply Board claims to supply about 340 MGD but in reality not even 320-330 MGD is being supplied.

Another big problem, Hyderabad citizens are currently facing is sudden drops in temperatures. City temperatures fell down from 17.5 deg to 12.5 deg. Public can’t come out of homes before 9 in the morning and can’t leave homes after 5 in the evening. The cold conditions have become big quandary for old people.

Patients and their relatives staying in government hospitals are going through tough times because of this. Although GHMC is planning to build night shelters in hospitals, the management in several hospitals is not ready to provide place.

six-new-movies-to-hit-screens-on-jan-1-2016_b_2712151148

Is it a good sentiment on the part of producers to release new movies on New Year eve expecting a change in audience sentiments? Or is it a simple, wise move to test their lucks before big films begin their rampage in Pongal race?

Whatever, the reason may be but we are getting flooded with at least half a dozen films on Jan1st and this mad rush has no proper logical explanation for sure.

In the list we have mainly, Ram and Keerthy Suresh starring ‘Nenu… Shailaja,’ Naga Shaurya and Palak Lalwani in Ramesh Varma directorial ‘Abbayitho Ammayi,’ RGV new flick ‘Killing Veerappan,’ Arjun and Kishore’s ‘Veerappan,’ suspense thriller ‘Chithram Bhalare Vichithram,’ and ‘Neti Vijethalu.’

According to market discussions, along with the above mentioned half a dozen films, few more like one or two should get as new addition into the list. So, its film and fun time for Telugu cinema lovers to give a reasonable start for New Year. Let us wish all the best for all these newcomers.

Young and charming Naga Shaurya should not become a one movie wonder. There was plenty of buzz on Shaurya’s attitude problems created new troubles to career in last few months and he learnt a good dose of lessons to set his career back on track with ‘Abbayitho Ammayi, Kalyana Vaibhogame’ and ‘Jo Achithananda.’ Among all three, first to release is Ramesh Varma directed ‘Abbayitho Ammayi.’

Briefing the highlights in this flick, ‘to speak plainly this film hasn’t got any lip locks because I am against this lip kiss scenes. Once when I kissed my heroine in ‘Jaadoo Gaadu,’ the film turned out a big time failure. In fact, it was also a mass action movie.

So, I decided to serve the audience what they expect from me. People love to see me more in family entertainers and soothing romantic concepts. So, I am presently going with only these two genres. I am completely against mass action stories and lip locks,’ Shaurya said.

‘Abbayitho Ammayi’ starring Palak Lalwani as heroine besides Shaurya is also impressing audience with her first and fresh looks. Let us see, how their chemistry works from Jan 1.

After releasing in a grand way amidst heavy expectations, Akhil, the debut film of young Akkineni hero Akhil, bit the dust immediately. Made with a huge budget of 40 plus crore, Akhil failed to recover even 20 crore from its theatrical release. The film’s buyers suffered a huge loss failed to recover nearly 70% of their investments.

There have been numerous complaints about the film’s failure. While everyone including the critics and fans pointed their fingers at the film’s ridiculous script, the film’s heroine, Sayesha Saigal, has finally revealed her opinions about Akhil’s failure.

Speaking to a leading media house, Sayesha stated, “I think there should have been a few more emotional and meaningful sequences between the couple. The couple looked beautiful but they hardly had any romantic sequences. The boy doesn’t even say ‘I love you’ to the girl.”

Sayesha too had a complaint about the film’s lackluster story and said, “the content needed to be a little more meaningful I suppose.” The petite beauty has already kept Akhil’s failure aside and moved on to her Bollywood debut, Shivaay, opposite Ajay Devgan.
