New Delhi: Actress Shweta Basu Prasad of “Makdee” and “Iqbal” fame, who was caught in an alleged prostitution scandal last year for the lack of work, says it’s “difficult” to survive in the entertainment industry for those who don’t have any “godfather”.

Asked whether she’s finding it difficult to survive in the industry, Shweta told IANS: “It is difficult. I don’t have any godfather or a producer father, or anybody that I know personally in the industry.”

“I’ve been an outsider, who has grown up in the industry because people have seen my work. But, yes it is slightly difficult as you have to keep reminding people and go for auditions. I know a lot of people. I keep getting auditions once in a while. But being an outsider, it’s quite tough to make a mark in the industry.”

Shweta, who has appeared in TV shows like “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii” and “Karishma Kaa Karishma” earlier, is all set to make her return on television with horror show “Darr Sabko Lagta Hai”.

Asked about her comeback on TV, Shweta said: “Being an actress, I’m open to acting assignments. It was an exciting story and my character looked very good. The scope of performance was really high. It’s in a short film format, so it didn’t take too much time as we shot the episode in a couple of days.”

Hosted by actress Bipasha Basu, “Darr Sabko Lagta Hai” will feature 26 short films which have all been directed by different directors. Shweta will be seen in the “Hostel” episode of the show, which will be aired on Sunday on &TV.

“I’m playing the role of Anjali in ‘Hostel’. She comes from another city for her education and lives in this hostel, which actually is a haunted building,” she said, adding that she finds it good to do horror.

“It’s very interesting. I love reading horror books and watching horror films a lot,” Shweta said.

Has TV evolved as a medium of entertainment?

Shweta said: “I don’t know how much things have changed. I don’t watch television much. When I did last TV show, I was 11 years old. I’m not mature enough to say how has it transformed or anything, but it’s not a comeback or so for me.”

“Being actors, one should be open to doing any medium — whether it is films, TV, theatre, ads or others.”

Kalyan Ram Nandamuri’s latest film Sher failed to grab the attention of film lovers right from the first show. In spite of scoring huge hit with his previous film, Kalyan Ram failed to generate interest on his new release.

Sher directed by Mallikarjun had a disastrous opening day at the box office and the collections on second day are even worse.

Although this film is not making much buzz at the ticket window, it has caught the attention of gossip circles with a controversial dialog.

In one scene a comedian says “Saha Jeevanam chesi kooda hand istunna ee trend lo, hand chusi love cheyadam enti?” to the heroine. Those who have seen the film are stressing on this dialog that it is surely directed at Pawan Kalyan!

Pawan Kalyan who was in live in relationship with Renu Desai for many years finally married her because of the pressure from media and political circles during PRP days. However he divorced her soon after that to marry a foreigner.

In fact Saha Jeevanam word became popular among Telugus because of Pawan Kalyan. Don’t know if the writer of Sher took a dig at the power star or just pointing out at the latest trend.

MP Kavitha Becomes Careful

One of the most hotly debated topic in TRS and Telangana circles is about Kavitha’s timing to claim KCR’s legacy.

Well, there is talk that she is hoping to be the next CM, once KCR passes on the baton to his children. So it is being said that Kavitha is doing all the ‘right things’ to ensure she gets her act right.

It is known that there is lots of criticism against her regarding the expenses during Bathukamma festival, both in India and abroad.

Many feel that she uses the celebrations to get political mileage very vital for her, if she ever decides to contest for the CM’s post some day.

So now, she is focusing on taking up developmental programmes in her constituency. Ironcially, in the past, she had vehemently criticised Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, that was launched by Prime Minister Modi in October 2014.

Now, surprisingly, she is taking up various programmes under its purview. The Yojana is aimed at promoting social, cultural development and promote mobilization among villagers.

Though she hasn’t spoken about it openly nor did KCR or KTR bring it up, Kavitha seems to be going about her job silently to make sure that she has a good number of projects to show if ever she were to become a candidate for CM’s post.

Who Are They To Dictate To Indian Government

Every Tom, Dick and Harry now thinks it fit to counsel India on how the country or government should be run. And we have our media and intellectuals to blame for it, with their stupid protests and award returns etc. In short, they have successfully managed to create an illusion of intolerance rampant in the country.

Global firm Moody’s has now issued a statement saying that Prime Minister Modi must keep his party members in check from making controversial statements or risk losing domestic and global credibility.

“In recent times, the government also hasn’t helped itself, with controversial comments from various BJP members. While Modi has largely distanced himself from the nationalist jibes, the belligerent provocation of various Indian minorities has raised ethnic tensions,” Moody’s Analytics said.

“Along with a possible increase in violence, the government will face stiffer opposition in the upper house as debate turns away from economic policy,” MA said.

The NDA’s lack of a majority in the RS has proved a major stumbling block to reforms.

Who the hell is Moody’s? They are a global credit rating and research firm. How can they dare to interfere or give advice to the Prime Minister of India on issues such as the one they have spoken of? They are clearly exceeding their brief and should be put in their place.

Does Moody’s have the guts to counsel the Chinese President on the flagrant violation of human rights in Tibet?

Does China’s occupation and decimation of the indigenous Tibetan population and culture give it a good name globally? Why doesn’t Moody’s advise China or Saudi Arabia for that matter?

Why don’t Moody’s stick to what it knows best: promotion of hard-core materialism and capitalism?
