Mother sues E-com giant over daughter’s suicide
An NRI mother dragged the world’s most popular e-commerce giant and a prestigious university to court following her daughter’s suicide. In her charges, the lady alleged that the e-commerce portal sold deadly cyanide pills to her daughter without even a doctor’s prescription.
Not stopping with this, the disheartened mother also filed a case on her daughter’s university for failing to take action on the culprit who sexually abused her daughter. As per the lady’s charges, her 20-year old daughter was sexually abused by her fellow student on the university campus in 2011. However, the university failed to act swiftly and the accused was never punished, pushing the girl into severe mental trauma.
The mother further alleged that her daughter purchased cyanide pills on the e-commerce portal and committed suicide by consuming those pills at her home in 2013. The mother also mentioned in her appeal that 50 people purchased the cyanide pills until 2nd February 2013, and that 11 of them committed suicides. The last pressed for harshest punishment to the e-commerce portal and also the university.
However, officials representing the e-commerce site and the university refused to comment as the matter is under the purview of the court.

YVS is all set to make yet another love story with freshers. Earlier he has done the same with movies like Lahiri Lahiri Lahirolo and Devdasu, where he scored huge hits through action love stories and with freshers. His upcoming film is titled- Nede Eenade Karuninche Nannu Chelikade.
This happens to be lyrics of a song that starts with the same line from 1969’s NTR movie “Bhale Tammudu”. Poetic titles are the pick of day for love stories and YVS Chowdary, an ardent fan of legendary NTR, banking on these wonderful lyrics sounds positive. Hope this talented producer-director bounces back with a stupendous hit in coming days.
Tejaswi Using Mahesh Craze?
Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Srimanthudu stood as the second highest grosser in the Tollywood. And the film’s songs composed by Devi Sri Prasad became instant chart busters. Of them, the melody song Jatha Kalise, picturised on Mahesh and Shruti, was a rage among youths. Banking on the craze, makers have christened an upcoming film as “Jatha Kalise”. What’s more? They have roped in Tejaswi Madivada, of Ice Cream, Heart Attack, SVSC fame, as the lead heroine.
Newcomer Aswin will be launched as hero with the movie. Written and to be directed by Rakesh Sasi, first-timer producer Naresh Ravuri is producing the film. It is learnt that the makers have registered the title “Jatha Kalise” in the Film Chamber after Srimanthudu audio is out. Rakesh earlier worked with the likes of RGV, Gunasekhar, Paruchuri Brothers, Chinni Krishna and he is now testing his luck with his maiden movie.
Ananth Sriram will be penning lyrics for the film which has music by Vikki and background score by Vydi. Tipped to be a road movie, the movie will be extensively shot in the locales of Vizag, Annavaram, Rajahmundry, Ramachandrapuram, Rampachodavaram forest and Hyderabad. Makers are planning to release the film’s first look on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Baahubali & Ramoji, Who Gave Hand To Whom?
We’ve already reported that the satellite rights of both, Baahuabli- The Beginning and The Conclusion are bought by MAA TV for 30 crores. It’s now time to look into why ETV has missed out grabbing the rights though they are not buying many big films’ satellite rights these days.
It’s Ramoji Rao led Eenadu that gave huge mileage to Baahubali by publicising everyday about the film. With 80% of the literally shot at Ramoji Film City, that coverage about Rajamouli’s magnum opus has brought name to Asia’s largest film production facility too. On that note, if Ramoji’s ETV has owned Baahubali satellite rights, then they would have showcased it umpteen times on their channel for the publicity of RFC too.
With Ramoji credit with ‘Chief Financier’ for Baahubali, many thought he would own the rights as part of the deal such that Baahubali makers will not repay the money they owned to him. In the end, MAA TV came into scene and that leads to a discussion who has given hand to whom among Baahubali and Ramoji Rao.
Insiders revealed that Baahubali makers haven’t expected such enormous success and at that time they promised to give Satellite rights in lieu of the facilities used at RFC. Now that the film has spun bigger numbers at box office, they are not ready to give the satellite rights at lower costs as proposed by Ramoji Rao led ETV. That’s one unconfirmed story doing rounds in film circles.
Nani’s Heroine Ties The Knot
Beautiful Malayali actress Saranya Mohan, who is popular for her innocently charming roles in Nani’s Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu and Kalyanram’s Kathi, tied the knot with Dr. Aravind Krishna at a lavish wedding yesterday in her hometown Alappuzha, Kerala. Both Saranya and Aravind got engaged to each other in July this year.
Saranya first made her acting debut in Malayalam films in 1997. She soon stepped into Tamil and Telugu films with well noted films like Village lo Vinayakudu, Eeram and Varun Sandesh’s Happy Happy Gaa etc. The actress also made her Bollywood debut with Badlapur Boys in 2014. In an interview post her engagement, Saranya revealed that she will continue to act in meaningful roles. Let’s wish the actress and her husband a happy married life.
