Okay, the internet is already full of jokes about Rahul baba surfacing after ‘getting lost’ for quite some time. Now, the non-existent Congress party which seems to be enjoying its time being out of power, is likely to have a new member.

Well, if the talk in political lobbies is to be believed, then there are very high chances of Varun Gandhi, son of Sanjay Gandhi and Union Minister of Women and Child Development Menaka Gandhi, joining the Congress party which has been headed by his grandfather and father.

Of course, there is skepticism as the rivalry between Menaka Gandhi and Congress is well-known. In fact, the pain point was her mother-in-law Indira Gandhi, with whom she wouldn’t see eye to eye and the rivalry continued till Varun’s time. Instead of being a part of his ‘family party’, Varun joined BJP just like his mother Menaka Gandhi.

He won from Sultanpur constituency in 2014 general elections and he was appointed the general secretary, becoming the youngest general secretary in the history of the party.

In the past, Maneka Gandhi had tried her best to get BJP to make her son the CM candidate in Uttar Pradesh. But the party had conveniently side-lined him.

Now, the latest piece of gossip in political circles is that Varun is seriously considering joining the grand old party of Indian politics.

Of course, his now infamous statement from 2009, ‘cut off the hand that is raised against Hindus’ might not win him any brownie points in the Congress camp, it is said that Varun is looking to Congress as the next best option if he were to quit BJP any time soon.

Though Menaka Gandhi is a Union Minister in PM Modi’s candidate, Varun hasn’t been given a role either under Amit Shah or made a minister.

So, he is keeping himself busy writing columns on economy, health and education for now.

After ruling the country for very many decades, looks like the younger generation of Gandhis are suffering from an identity crisis within their respective parties.

While Rahul Gandhi has intense opposition from within the party for not being able to lead the party at the time of crisis, Varun continues to remain in shadows and hasn’t made a mark for himself as a promising leader for future generation.

So, given this scenario, it would be interesting to see if the ‘ghar wapsi’ as some like to call it, would actually happen or if Varun chooses to remain loyal to the Saffron party for now.

A roaring wall of snow, and then everything is covered in white. Deadly silence, then screams. The terrifying moments after an avalanche struck a base camp at Mount Everest on Saturday have been caught on camera by German mountaineer Jost Kobusch.

After the snow came crashing down, the mountaineers were trying to gather their wits. “Stay together,” they are heard screaming. “Come under my jacket,” one person is heard telling his comrade, panting with fear and cold.

At least 19 people were killed and scores injured in that avalanche triggered by the massive earthquake that hit Nepal on Saturday. A part of the camp was buried and tents were blown away.

Survivors have described a cloud of rock and ice that smashed into their base camp.

Hundreds of mountaineers from across the world had gathered at Everest at the start of the annual climbing season.

Among those killed was Dan Fredinburg, a Google engineer based in California.

Many climbers were still on the mountain when aftershocks triggered a series of avalanches.

Official estimates suggest that at least 1,000 climbers, including about 400 foreigners, had been at base camp or on the ascent to the peak when the earthquake struck. April is one of the most popular times to scale the 8,850-metre peak before rain and clouds at the end of May.

Saturday’s 7.9 magnitude quake was Nepal’s worst in 81 years, and has killed over 3,200. It also shook India, China and Bangladesh.

Almost a year ago, an avalanche killed 16 Nepali guides in what had been the single deadliest day on the mountain.

This is surely a shocking news to Andhra Pradesh capital region people who will be suffering a high risk of earthquake effect if it hits India. Many say that after Nepal, quake’s target would be India where the Andhra Pradesh capital region incurs a huge loss. There were slight tremors yesterday in the proposed capital region’s Amaravathi and Undavalli for a few seconds.

So, the decision of the proposed capital region falling in the earthquake zone is annoying all. It seems the CRDA areas are classified to be under the earthquake zone 3 recording a magnitude of 6 on Richter scale. As the capital is still in budding state, the constructions here have to be built so that they can withstand this pressure.

As the Guntur and Krishna are low lying compared to the projects Nagarjuna Sagar, Srisailam and so on, extra care should be taken in order to withstand with all the natural calamities that may hit the capital. The AP govt was warned by the Sivaramakrishnan committee hinting the proposed capital region being hit by natural calamities quite often.

Amidst the demand for Special status in Andhra Pradesh state, there were many announcements by the Centre that it is looking into the issue and has concluded that there would be no special status, Union Minister Nirmala Sitaraman slashed those comments and assured that Special status will be given now or later but will be granted.

She promised that the Centre is working really hard to implement the Special Status to the state with several other arguments with other states. Speaking at a conference, Nirmala said that Centre will abide by its word. She pointed out few states that are questioning the need of special status to AP, while the Centre is answering them.

She said that the Centre released an amount of Rs 2203 crores to Andhra Pradesh as part of the capital fund. She said ” The TDP leaders are under pressure and we are able to feel it. So, we are not faulting the TDP leaders at all.” So, what do you think are these comments like? Do they bring new hope to AP?

Botsa’s entry into the YSRCP is also being opposed by Siva Raju who holds Botsa as the reason for him not being given as MP ticket whenYSR regime was reigning supreme. Jagan has reportedly offered Botsahis party’s highest post in the PAC and also an MLC seat under thelocal body quota.
