How Many Outside Of Hyderabad?

Every time that an MNC invests in and around Hyderabad, KCR promptly gets clicked with the visiting CEO and his media machine goes into overdrive on how KCR is making the vision of a ‘Bangaru Telangana’ come true.

It is high time that KCR stops taking credit for investments made in Hyderabad, for whose development, he has played no role at all.

MNC’s naturally prefer Hyderabad because the groundwork has been prepared by the previous governments.

If KCR is really attracting funds to Telangana, then he should show how many companies have signed memorandum of understandings to set up units in Telangana other than in Hyderabad. That would be a good parameter of his marketing skills.

Until then, he should stop acting high and mighty when Samsung or a Mahindra opens a new unit in Hyderabad.

What About The Media?

The Congress is blaming the BJP, The BJP is blaming AAP and AAP is blaming both Congress and BJP over the suicide of farmer Gajendra Singh at the AAP rally.

One player missing in the blame game is the media.

There were many journalists present when Gajendra Singh started climbing up the tree. All of them were busy recording his footage and none bothered trying to take any steps towards rescuing the poor farmer.

In fact, when Gajendra Singh fell down and the suicide note slipped out of his pocket, the journalists made a mad rush to be the first to get possession of the suicide note. And then they carried headlines screaming that the farmer’s life was lost despite the presence of so many policemen at the rally.

No Support To Top Producer

In the film industry, if you are successful, everyone wants to be friends with you. If you are going through a hard time, nobody bothers.

AM Ratnam was once a top producer with many blockbusters to his credit. However he faced financial problems after a couple of his big budgeted films failed.

He is now on the path to recovery having delivered a couple of hits in Tamil with super star Ajith. Ratnam is now dubbing the latest Ajith film in Telugu and releasing it himself. So, he will be making a comeback of sorts after a long time in Tollywood.

For the audio function of his film, he reportedly invited many top stars but none of them turned up for the event.

Had it been the earlier days, then top stars would have been waiting for an invitation from Ratnam. Such is Tollywood! Such is life!

As news of the massive earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale hitting Nepal spread like wildfire, Twitter and social media were flooded with prayers and messages for the people affected.

Speaking with media Manisha Koirala said: “I don’t know how to react. It is a huge blow especially for a country like Nepal, which is already going through a political crises.”

Talking about the rising toll, she pointed out, “We only know about Kathmandu and some major towns. No one knows what has happened in the remote areas. The actual toll can be much higher than reported.”

Although she is relieved that her parents, former Cabinet minister Prakash Koirala and Sushma Koirala are safe, the actress is eager to meet them.

“I wish I was with them right now. But as of now all airlines have cancelled their flights to Nepal. I will take the first flight out once they resume service,” she said.

Aftershocks are still being felt across the country and Manisha hopes the government finds ways to minimise further damage.

Senior Producer Bellamkonda Suresh has been running through financial turmoil that he couldn’t release Ganga (Muni 3) on time. This film directed by Lawerence was released in Tamil as Kanchana 2 and has been doing wonders at the box office.

In spite of doing very good business, Bellamkonda Suresh failed to release the movie as financiers demanded to clear all their dues.

While things are looking bleak for the film to release in the near future, in comes Dil Raju to bail Bellamkonda out of this trouble.

If the sources are to be believed Dil Raju is ready to take away total distribution rights of Ganga from Bellamkonda and he will be releasing it across Telugu States. Discussions are currently going on and if everything falls in place Ganga will release on May 1st.

Katrina Kaif is ready to make her red carpet debut at the 68th Cannes International Film Festival, but the actress says she intends to enjoy the platform, which weaves cinema, fashion and beauty together, instead of fretting over her looks.

The “Bang Bang!” actress will walk the red carpet at the 68th Cannes International Film Festival as the ambassador of cosmetic brand L’Oréal Paris, and to be a part of the opening ceremony of the film gala on May 13.

“I don’t think I’m going there to set any trend or look. I don’t think that is my intention. I think my intention is to be me,” the actress told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

“That’s the reason L’Oréal has signed me as the ambassador — for what I represent. I will find something that I’m comfortable in and will not get carried away to make a statement. I think one should be true to one’s own self and enjoy the festival and the platform which celebrates cinema, fashion and beauty trends as well,” she added.

The 31-year-old is yet to decide on her look for the film fest, but notes that she will pick the ensembles soon.

“I have not decided the look yet. We would be working with the team at Cannes, which consists of some amazing hair and beauty technicians. We haven’t thought whether it would be Indian or western look. We haven’t made any plans but we will zero in on it soon,” the talented actress said.

L’Oréal Paris will celebrate 18 years of its partnership as the official makeup partner for Festival De Cannes this year with ‘Matte or Gloss’ as the beauty trend. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor will also bring Bollywood glamour to the red carpet as ambassadors of the brand.

A cursory glance at the bouquet of films at the fest will highlight lack of Indian presence. Apart from first look of “Jazbaa”, Punjabi film “Chauthi Koot” and Neeraj Ghaywan’s debut feature “Masaan” are headed to the international film festival. The actress terms the dearth of Indian films as a passing phase.

“I think every year is different. Sometimes we have the right kind of films for the festival and sometimes we don’t. So I think this is just not year.”

“I’m sure there will be many more years to come,” Katrina, who had a slow start in Bollywood with “Boom”, but went to draft a successful story with hits like “Namastey London”, “Welcome” and “Singh Is Kinng”, she said.

On the professional front, Katrina is busy with “Fitoor” and “Jagga Jasoos”.
