The Gandhi scion and the Congress Vice President, Rahul Gandhi, is back after a 56 day long unexplained and highly debated sabbatical. Rahul landed in Delhi on Thursday and did not interact with the media and maintained a dignified silence. Soon after his return, the youngest Gandhi spent 2 hours at his home and then met his mother Sonia at 10 Janpath.
Several reports were published saying that Rahul spent his vacation meditating in Myanmar. However, popular media house, published a story with an alleged photocopy of Rahul’s air ticket to Bangkok. In the business class return ticket, it shown that Rahul left for Bangkok on the 16th of February and flown back yesterday from the same destination.
This immediately spread like wildfire and many are now discussing Rahul’s itinerary. It is still not clear if Rahul spent some quality time in Bangkok before leaving for Myanmar. This latest scoop has become a minor headache for Congress’ authorities who have been evading media’s queries on Rahul’s mysterious holiday for the last 2 months.
Success Kid’ Raises $93,000 To Save His Dad
When his mother published his famous photograph in which he is seen with a clenched fist full of sea sand and a remarkably determined yet innocent face 8 years ago, Sammy Griner became a rage and the photograph has been widely used for numerous success and inspirational quotes and memes worldwide. Now, the grown up Sam has pulled off a miracle and raised nearly $93,000 through a fundraiser website for his father’s kidney transplant.
Sam Griner lives with his dad Justin Griner and mother Laney Griner in Florida, USA. Sam’s father fell seriously ill in 2006 and his health started to deteriorate, leading to kidney failure in 2009. He has been undergoing dialysis ever since and last week, his parents started a fund raising campaign for his kidney transplant. Within a week, the fundraiser attracted donations of more than $93,000.
Now, the family is on a lookout for a possible kidney donor with the right match of a good tissue. Initially, Sam’s mother did not want to exploit Sam’s internet popularity to raise funds. But, they went ahead with the campaign as it also raises awareness about the issue.
Uploaded online first in 2007, Sam’s ‘Success’ful photograph is one of the longest lasting memes ever on the internet.The photograph is widely used each day. The success of this fund raiser is one perfect example of the power of social media.
Saina’s startling comments on Gopi Chand
The Last couple of weeks have been a rollercoaster ride for India’s ace badminton player Saina Nehwal. First, the pride of Hyderabad stood atop the female badminton world rankings and within 2 days, she again was pushed to the second spot after losing the Malaysian open. However, Saina again reclaimed her top rank and is now the world’s number one player.
Recently, Saina made few surprising comments about her previous coach Pullela Gopichand. Saina said that she was not getting proper training under Gopi Chand and that their off the court strategy was not fructifying on court, leading to her defeats to several better ranked Chinese players. Saina also said that they both do not interact much these days and that it is tough to be the same coach-student after parting ways.
It is well known that Saina, after being trained under Gopi for years and winning several laurels under his training, bid goodbye to him and is now getting trained under former national champion Vimal Kumar. No more Tamil Nadu buses in AP
The war between Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh following the Seshachalam red sanders smugglers encounter by AP Police is getting worse with each passing day. Already, the APSRTC had temporarily suspended its bus services between AP and Tamil Nadu after several buses were damaged in the protests by Tamil politicians.
However, the Tamil Nadu buses have been plying without any interruption. This invited intense ire from the Teluguites living on the AP-TN border who have been protesting against TN buses and even stated that they will not allow any Tamil Nadu buses through their villages. These protesting villagers are angry that while APSRTC has incurred a loss of 5 crores until now, the Tamil Nadu Road Transport Corporation has been minting money, exploiting the commuters.
The protests are especially rampant in the Varadayapalem village, where the villagers are even braving the police and are vehemently telling the cops that violence may erupt if the Tamil Nadu buses are allowed to enter their village. The local police and RTC officials are now fearing of clashes between the neighboring AP and TN villages and are mulling over banning the TN buses.
Nara Family Moves into Rented House
AP CM Chandrababu Naidu, who just returned Hyderabad on Saturday after wrapping up hectic six-day China trip, moved into rented house in Jubilee Hilss Road No 24. Naidu along with his family shifted to new house as the house they were living in Jubilee Hills Road No. 65 is under renovation. Ever since Chandrababu Naidu back in the saddle as CM after kept out of power for 9 long years, the visitors to his house have doubled and this stressed need for renovation of his existing house.
Chandrababu wanted to demolish his house at Road No 65 and build new building to suit his latest requirements including allotting more space for visitors. On other hand, rumour mongers suspect that there are Vastu complaints behind Naidu’s decision to rebuild house.
Meanwhile, Chandrababu’s china visit turned out to be super hit. The government of Andhra Pradesh has signed 10 Memoranda of Understandings (MoUs) with the top notch Chinese companies. The MoUs signed are mainly related to bringing direct investments to new state to give a fillip to the solar and alternative energy sectors in the State.
‘N’ Sentiment Haunts Jr NTR’s Title?
“Ninnu Choodalani”, “Na Alludu”, “Naaga” and “Narasimhudu” are some of the films of Jr NTR that have tanked miserably at box office. Big budgets, stunning star-cast, mind-blowing dances and super hit- nothing saved these films from sinking without a trace. Definitely it should have created a sentimental impact on Tarak for sure.
Director Sukumar’s latest movie happens to be a family drama laced with action and romance, and it features Jr NTR as hero. For this film, the title “Naannaku Prematho” is registered already by producer BVSN Prasad, but there is no official announcement made. Buzz has that Tarak has asked Sukumar to change the title a little because of the bad experiences he has with the letter “Na”. Some suggested “Maa Nannaku Prematho”, but Sukumar is still considering other options if we have to believe.
Most of the film will be shot abroad and the first schedule will begin soon in London. Already Devi Sri Prasad has composed some enchanting tunes for the film, while gorgeous Rakul Preet Singh is getting ready to romance NTR for the first time.

This 24th, Akkineni Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming action thriller Dohchay is releasing amidst heavy expectations.
Yesterday, the film has been cleared by the censor board with a clean U certificate. This immediately gave the trade a huge sigh of relief since a U certificate means a huge patronage from the family audiences, which in turn results in heavy collections. Incidentally, Bunny’s S/O Satyamurthy was certified U/A and we all know the result of the film.
What is a much bigger achievement is that the censor members did not even ask for a single cut in the film, which means that the film has been shaped up as a full fledged family entertainer. Puri’s Master Plan For His Son’s Debut
Star kids following their parents’ footsteps is nothing new in Tollywood. Many star kids made successful debuts on Telugu silver screen and are ruling the hearts of millions of their parents’ fans and even have their own fan following. The latest kid on the block is Akash Puri, the son of maverick director Puri Jagannadh.
After appearing in several hit films as a child actor, Akash is finally making his debut as a hero in the teenage romantic drama Andhra Pori. Andhra Pori is an official remake of Marathi film Timepass. However, not many know that Timepass is the biggest ever hit in the history of Marathi cinema. Made with a budget of just 2 crores, the film went on to collect more than 33 crores and smashed all the existing box office records by a huge margin.
This clearly explains Puri’s knack of choosing the right launch pad for his son’s debut. Since the film will be releasing in the 2nd week of May, one can expect it to collect big cashing in on the holiday season. The film is produced by the legendary production house, Prasad Productions.
Instead of the original film’s love story between the lower cast boy and upper caste girl in the Marathi original, the Telugu version will have Akash playing a Telangana boy and Ulka Gupta plays an Andhra girl, making enough room for regional conflict making things more interesting.

With this, Nitya will be on a double hat-trick and one wonders if she can perform this amazing feat with her upcoming release, Rudramadevi. ‘Khakhaji’ Anushka Is A Self-Confessed Foodie
One look at Anushka’s almost size zero figure, one would assume that she barely survives on juices and salads. But the PK actress is apparently a hardcore foodie who not only loves to eat, but also loves to cook.
She confesses that she loves to eat Chinese from road-side stalls after late night shoots. Coming to her co-stars, she says King Khan is a non-fussy eater while Ranbir Kapoor lives up to his family image and loves food.
Now, you wouldn’t get a svelte heroine talk about food every day. But Anushka reveals all about her food cravings and her culinary skills on Videocon presents Farah Ki Daawat tonight at 8 on Colors.
The show has Farha talking to Bollywood about food and all things related to food. And it’s not all talk, Anushka will also cook Paneer a la Sharma and Mooli ki chutney along with her mom.
Apparently, Anushka will also reveal how she got her nickname ‘Khakhaji’ while on it. Once done, Farah will also host Ayushmann Khurrana.
Well, though the episode will be aired today, the show was shot a while ago and Farah says she was totally surprised that Bollywood’s fittest actress was a hardcore foodie.
Revealing that Anushka had cooked for the first and last time when she was in school, Farah says Anushka did surprise all by stepping in and helping her mom. The experience turned out to be delightful with the entry of Ayushmann Khurrana says Farah.
‘Kanchana 2’ Strikes Gold At Box Office
Actor-filmmaker Raghava Lawrencce’s latest Tamil horror-comedy “Kanchana 2” has grossed a whopping Rs.10.83 crore in the first two days in Tamil Nadu since its release on Friday.
“The movie has registered a phenomenal opening of Rs.10.83 crore in two days since its release in Tamil Nadu. At this rate, it’s sure to set record opening weekend collections at the ticket window,” trade analyst Trinath told IANS.
Directed by Lawrencce, the film is part of the highly successful “Kanchana” franchise, which opened the floodgates to several horror-comedies in Tamil cinema over the years.
“Kanchana 2” also features Taapsee Pannu, Nitya Menen and Kovai Sarla in important roles.
Lawrencce has also hinted that “Kanchana 3” is in the offing.
Nikita lands special song in Vishal Movie
Kannada actress Nikita Thukral has been roped in for a special folk number in Vishal Krishna Reddy-starrer Tamil actioner “Paayam Puli”.
“We recently shot a special folk number with Nikita. It has come out very well. To shoot the song, a market set was erected,” the film’s director Suseenthiran told IANS.
Nikita is most popular for her item number in “Saroja” in Tamil cinema.
Also starring Kajal Aggarwal and Aishwarya Dutta, the film features Vishal in the role of a policeman.
Said to be inspired by real events, “Paayam Puli” is set against the backdrop of Madurai.
