Geethanjali is the small film that turned out to be surprise hit of 2014 and set cash registers ringing at the ticket windows. Made on shoe-string budget, the horror comedy featuring Anjali and Srinivas Reddy in the lead roles created box office wonder and managed to get double returns on the investment.

Following the formula, director Raj Kiran is planning to come up with a sequel for the film. What’s more surprising, shocking is that Anjali who pulled off the film on her shoulders, would not be part of the project. Even Kona Venkat who provided screenplay and presented the film, would be kept away from the sequel. 

Going by reports, even actor Srinivas Reddy who played pivotal role in materialising original Geethanjali may not be part of its sequel Director Raj Kiran announced the sequel stating that a popular hero and heroine would reprise the roles in its sequel whereas first-timer producer Chinna Babu will be testing his hand at production. So, Geethanjali 2 will miss Kona’s trademark screenplay and Anjali’s glam quotient. The big question how far audience will receive these changes?

Amid wide-spread rumours of their marriage hitting rough weather, Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik has broken his silence and quashed them as baseless. “Even now Sania and I are together in Dubai and we love to spend as much time as possible together. But being professional athletes we have to also fulfill our other commitments but it does not mean our marriage is on the rocks,” Malik was quoted by a Pakistan daily. 

Responding to reports that he’s moving closely with actress Humaima Malik and her family, Shoaib insisted that Humaima was only a good friend. “Sania and I have a strong relationship and we knew before we got married it would not be easy.

But at times it gets frustrating reading baseless stories about our marriage,” he said. Meanwhile, Tennis champion Sania Mirza posted a cute picture of her with husband-cricketer Shoaib Malik on her social networking page hinting that all is well in their marital life.

During his last days, the late music director Chakri was reportedly under depression as he hardly have big offers in his hand. One of the successful composers in Telugu, who scored music for over 85 films, lately Chakri had very few films and his last film was Dasari’s Erra Bus. 

With top directors in Telugu opting for music directors based out of Chennai and even roping in few Tamil music directors for Telugu films, top musicians like Chakri were sidelined although not deliberately. Apparently, Chakri was under ‘depression’ and this was also expressed by singer Kousalya when she saw him at Memu Saitham. 

In fact, Chakri’s last words with his office boy where he expressed his wish to meet ‘Jagan Anna’ (director-producer Puri Jagannadh) too indicate that the late talented music director was eyeing for big-budget films. Although several directors and actors claimed at his funeral that they had always wanted to work with Chakri, nothing was concrete or nothing was in paper. 

Unfortunately Chakri is not the only one who is ignored. Even top music director like MM Keeravani had publicly admitted that he too was not getting good offers like before. Whatever, Chakri had died at very small age and in trouble period. This definitely don’t go well with his fans and admirers.

And the trailer takes a sensational turn as the hunchback looking Vikram kidnaps the bride-to-be Amy. General thought is that Amy is getting married for villain and hero is saving her. 

But if we could expecting everything from this trailer itself, definitely it will not be a Shankar’s movie. Visual feast is what we could say, looking at the computer graphics and advanced makeup techniques used in the movie. Vikram is par excellence in the character, while Amy is glamorous. Telugu film industry has lost many celebrities in last year December and Dangerous December is back again like last year. Famous music director Chakri and actor PJ Sarma died last week .Even before Tollywood could digest these two big blows , one more sore news is out and it’s about pathetic health condition of noted character artist Ahuti Prasad. 

We have already reported that character actor Ahuti Prasad health is in serious condition and has been admitted in KIMS, Secunderabad. He is suffering with ill health from last few days. When General Physicians could not find a progress, they advised him to shift for KIMS. As per latest update, Ahuti Prasad is stable and he was responding well for treatment and he was reportedly out of danger. 

He is showing signs of recovery and Doctors seem to be happy with the way he is responding to the treatment Ahuti Prasad won Nandi Awards for Best Villain and Best Character Artist. From last few months, he did not accept any new films.

Allari Naresh has wrapped up the shooting of his home production Bandipotu, being directed by Mohana Krishna Indraganti. With the completion of a song on the lead pair Naresh and Eesha (Anthakamundu Aa Tharuvatha fame), the total shooting of the film has come to an end. The movie has now entered the post-production phase.

If all goes well, the audio will be released in January first half and the movie will hit the screens by the end of January. Kalyani Koduri has rendered the tunes whereas PG Vinda cranks the camera. The film marks the revival of EVV Cinema banner, founded by Naresh’s late father-veteran director EVV Satyanarayana. 

Lately, Naresh is back to form with his recent success Brother of Bommali. It is learnt that Mohana Krishna Indraganti too made Bandipotu a light-hearted entertainer laced with fun and romance. Since the movie is made on his father’s banner, Naresh is apparently leaving no stone unturned to make it a splash.
