TDP–YSRCP Credit War Over Bhogapuram Airport Intensifies

A political war of words has erupted over the newly completed Bhogapuram Airport in Vizianagaram district, with both the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) staking claim to the project’s credit.
The TDP has asserted that the airport was conceived and initiated during its tenure and maintained that while certain construction activities took place under the YSRCP government, the project reached completion only after the current coalition returned to power.
Countering this claim, the YSRCP has maintained that the bulk of the airport’s construction was completed during the tenure of former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and that the party lost power just before the airport was commissioned.
Adding further momentum to the debate, former YSRCP MP Vijay Sai Reddy took to social media following the successful landing of the first test flight at Bhogapuram. In his post, he expressed happiness over the milestone and recalled that he had repeatedly raised airport-related issues in Parliament and during meetings with Union ministers.
Describing the project as a long-standing aspiration of the people of Visakhapatnam, Vijay Sai Reddy’s remarks were seen as an implicit attempt to stake claim in the ongoing credit battle.
With political tempers running high, it remains to be seen how many more leaders will step forward to assert their role in the completion of the Bhogapuram Airport.

Chandrababu Naidu Calls for Unity Between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

The longest-serving chief minister in the history of Telugu states, Chandrababu Naidu, is widely recognized as a seasoned statesman with decades of political experience. Known for his visionary approach and mature outlook, he recently addressed ongoing issues between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, including the contentious Krishna waters distribution.
Naidu emphasized the unique distinction of the Telugu language as the only indigenous language in India represented by two states, calling it a matter of pride and honor. “Telugu must always serve as a medium to unite the two Telugu states,” he stated.
Drawing an analogy with the Jewish community, he added, “For instance, the Jewish community, though barely one crore in population, has made a global impact in terms of economy and intelligence. My aspiration is to see the Telugu community reach number one, even ahead of the Jewish community, by 2047.”
The chief minister also stressed the importance of amicably resolving conflicts between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, including water distribution, administrative coordination, and other disputes. He underlined that the collective goal should be mutual growth and cooperation rather than independent competition.
Naidu’s remarks highlight the need for harmony between the Telugu states and serve as a call for collaboration to achieve shared prosperity.
