Why Kalyanram Won’t Call Jr NTR As Tammudu?

Share

The brotherly-bonding of Kalyanram and Jr NTR is quite visible and everyone knows how strongly the two are connected with each other. After the death of their other brother and their father, the two have become more close. Recently the Nandamuri brothers have showcased their chemistry yet again at Entha Manchivadavaru pre-release event.

It could be noticed that though Jr NTR calls Kalyan Ram as ‘Anna’, Kalyan Ram never calls him that way. He always calls him ‘Nanna’. When the same question is posed to Kalyan Ram, the big brother said, “I’ve always a feeling that NTR is more like my father. And sometimes he is like my son and behaves quite childish and warm. That’s why I don’t call him Tammudu but will call only as Nanna”.

Also Kalyan Ram revealed that he speaks to Tarak before every movie and the two will discuss the script of the film. “He keeps giving me some advice and things to be worked upon, and I follow them” says Kalyan Ram.

Sr Hero Packs A Punch: Looking Towards 150 Crores

Share

Suddenly Bollywood has seen the emergence of these two heroes as two dependable stars who come up with purely sensible content or completely intriguing content. They are none other than Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan.

After entertaining people with a laugh riot like De De Pyaar De and making the film collect nearly 150 crores, now Ajay Devgan has come up with historical film Tanhaji. Guess what, despite the fact that Sankranthi is not a holiday season in Bollywood, the film released last Friday only to stun the audiences and box office alike.

By collecting much higher than Day 1, 4 and 5 on its Day 6 (16.72 crores nett), the film is now looking forward to posting a total of 150 crores in the coming weeks. It collected 15.10 cr on its release day and Sat 20.57 cr, Sun 26.26 cr, Mon 13.75 cr, Tue 15.28 cr, Wed 16.72 in order to make Rs 107.6+ cr so far.

The story deals with the life of Tanhaji, a commander of Sivaji’s army, and the amazing visual effects clubbed with terrific action sequences have enthralled the audiences big time we must say.

Entha Manchivadavura Review

Share

Satish Vegesna succeeded in getting the emotions right in Shatamanam Bhavati, but failed big time in recreating the magic in Srinivasa Kalyanam. He has taken inspiration from a Gujarati film called Oxygen to pull off another miracle like Shatamanam, but Entha Manchivadavura turned out to be a boring snooze-fest filled with forced emotions.

What is it about?

Balu (Kalyan Ram) who lost his parents as a child gets ignored by his relatives. So he decides to fill in the void for all the people that are missing close ones. He also launches an emotions suppliers company that will send a son or daughter or grandson when someone is missing them. How everyone that gets benefited by this company becomes his family forms rest of the story.

Performances:

Kalyan Ram did his best to fit in but this character didn’t suit his style and body language. Despite his best efforts, Kalyan Ram could only make it watchable in a few instances. Mehreen appeared as clueless as always. Rajeev Kanakala’s character is restricted to a couple of scenes. Vennela Kishore brings few laughs in the second half. Naresh’s character is fun at places. Most of the character actors made it look like a television serial with their performances.

Technicalities:

Satish Vegesna should come out of Shatamanam Bhavati mode and explore new ideas than banking upon the same formula again and again. The film’s concept itself is absurd, but the director couldn’t see it and has made all the more tedious with his out fashioned direction and writing. There is not a single scene that evokes emotion. The film doesn’t engage at any point of its runtime.

Gopi Sunder’s background score is okay but the songs are not up to the mark. Cinematography is fine. Editing is adequate. Dialogues are very ordinary. Production values are below par.

Thumbs Up:

A bit of comedy here and there

Thumbs Down:

Silly plot

Outdated direction

Overstretched climax

Boring emotions

Analysis:

Satish Vegesna’s Shatamanam Bhavati is such a big hit that he is refusing to explore other themes at the moment. In spite of a mishap like Srinivasa Kalyanam he has once again made a movie with similar theme. Entha Manchivadavura is a remake of Gujarati film Oxygen. Satish Vegesna has rewritten the screenplay for it so that it appeals to the masses. It appears to be a fresh concept at the outset, but the formulaic screenplay makes it another run of the mill stuff.

Renting a relationship is not entirely alien concept for humans. In fact it is one of the industries in Japan. You can hire a relationship that you want from the agencies that run ‘Rent A Family’ business. But a concept like this in a densely populated country like India doesn’t sell. The situations need to be strong and the emotions should feel real to make it look authentic. But Entha Manchivadavura appears artificial right from the beginning and none of the emotions strike a chord.

Television serial like presentation of some scenes has made it even more tedious to watch. The entry of Rajiv Kanakala raises hopes before the intermission, but he gets jailed to make a reentry only during the climax fight. Vennela Kishore is introduced in the second half, but he couldn’t do much to lift this boring drama. The director shows little urgency in wrapping things up with some lethargic scenes and forced emotions. Climax fight is unnecessary and the hospital scene before the end is a knockout punch.

Entha Manchivadavura is made for audience who are used to watch television soaps. This is not a film for festive audience. One should appreciate the confidence of its makers for pitting it against Sankranthi biggies.

Verdict: Good-For-Nothing!

BJP and Jana Sena will form next govt in AP: Pawan

Share

Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan has confirmed the alliance of his party with BJP and he went on to make a statement that the next government in Andhra Pradesh will be of Jana Sena and BJP alliance.

Pawan along with Nadella and AP BJP leaders met in Vijayawada and the meeting lasted for more than three hours. Addressing the media after the meeting, Pawan said, “AP needs BJP support by all means and for the future and interest of state, we have come together. In the past there occurred a misunderstanding and now all of them are cleared. We have discussed all the issues related to state and nation. The ideology of BJP and Jana Sena is the same and so the alliance has been formed.”

Adding Pawan said, the people of AP have seen TDP and YSRCP ruling the state and now they want a third opinion. In the 2024 elections, it will be Jana Sena and BJP government. I thank PM Modi and Amit Shah for being gracious enough and very soon I will be meeting important leaders of BJP in New Delhi.

AP BJP chief Kanna Lakshminarayana said, Pawan Kalyan has come forward to join with us without any conditions and it should be appreciated with a big heart. BJP Rajya Sabha MP GVL said, this is a good sign for the future of AP.

Disco Raja Song: The Disco King Is Back!

Share

Thaman who has orchestrated the blockbuster success of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is currently in top form as a music director.

He is not hesitating to experiment with his composition and also the choice of singers.

Disco Raja seems to be a different musical album from Thaman as every song from it sounded unique.

The latest Disco number from Disco Raja was rendered by none other than the Disco King Bappilahiri himself.

Raviteja also joined to croon a few lines in it, but it is Bappilihari’s vocals that make this song sprcial.

Seetarama Sastry’s simple yet effective lyrics are additional bonus.

The song is not an instant chartbuster and may take some time to grow on its listeners. The retro styled music and Bappilihari’s voice will help this song to have its own fan base.

Disco Raja is certainly grabbing the attention with its interesting promos and songs. It will be out in theaters from next Friday.

Buzz: Leading Daily Humiliates A Big Director!

Share

Generally, big film directors do not entertain media and give them interviews whenever they request; except, of course, before the release of their films, since they anyway require publicity for the films.

At the same time, the media, too, run after such directors for interviews because whatever they say in the interviews will increase their readership. The audiences are curious to know any interesting details about the films and their making.

Such directors do not give interviews to all and sundry in the media, but only choose only leading publications. Even those media houses which conduct interviews tend to give wide coverage and also are very careful in avoiding controversies.

But a popular director whose latest film has turned out to be a blockbuster had a bitter experience from a leading Telugu daily.

This particular daily had desperately tried for an interview with this director, known in the film circles as an intellectual and sought to influence him through the producers of the film.

The daily had apparently promised to publish a full-page interview with the director. Finally, it succeeded in getting the interview, but when it was published the following day, it was a big shock not only for the director but also the producers of the film.

His interview was carried only in one-fourth of the page, while the remaining three-quarters was dedicated to a senior actress who staged a comeback to the silver screen after a long gap by acting in another film which was released almost the same time.

The producers reportedly fumed at the reporter who conducted the interview and his immediate in-charge of the page for deliberately humiliating the director.

Apparently, the daily admitted the mistake and said it would carry another big interview with the director to compensate the present goof-up.

But one doubts whether this director, who generally avoids giving interview to the media and addressing press meets, will entertain the media house again.

Sarileru Continues To Decline, Ala Keeps Soaring!

Share

Mahesh Babu was expected to dominte the US box office in the Sankranthi clash, but Ala Vaikunthapuramulo directed by Trivikram took over the reins from its Premieres day and continued to dominate the collections charts till date.

Sarileru Neekevvaru is still running in more number of screens than AVPL and its ticket price is also high compared to the Allu Arjun starrer.

AVPL already surpassed SLNE’s gross collections and extended its lead on Wednesday. SLNE didn’t even collect one-third of what AVPL grossed on Wednesday.

SLNE’s gross stands at $1,811,089 and AVPL is at $1,872,813 by the end of Wednesday.

Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is set to gross between $2.5 Mil to $3 Milion its full run and SLNE may end up around $2.1 Mil mark by the end of its theatrical run in North America.

Given the selling price of both the movies, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is a winner by huge margin.

Will Lotus Blossom in Glass?

Share

“Will Lotus blossom in “Glass” or can Glass take the weight of the Lotus? This is the question with the BJP and the Jana Sena forging alliance in Andhra Pradesh.

As the leaders of the two parties met in a hotel in Vijayawada, the discussion was around this question in the political corridors. Who will benefit from this alliance had become the major question.

The BJP has no footing in the State except a handful of votes in every village.

The party had no record of winning any election in the State except one corporator in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation in the 1980s.

Dogiparthi Jhansilakshmi had won as coporator from the One Town area of Vijayawada in those days on BJP symbol and there was no one elected even as ward members in gram panchayats.

Even now, the party’s position is the same. It cannot win even a single gram panchayat, if they contest the local body elections.

The fate of the Jana Sena is no different. The party could not win the election, except one MLA in East Godavari district.

Rapaka Varaprasad had won the election and most of it is because of his own image and following rather than the vote base of the Jana Sena.

The party chief, Pawan Kalyan, himself had lost the election at two places – Bhimavaram in West Godavari and Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam. His brother, Nagababu, too had lost the Narasapuram Lok Sabha election.

The two parties have not seen the victory on their own, with the above exceptions. To be positive, the Jana Sena is placed better in terms of vote bank, than the BJP in the State.

Now, with the two parties coming together with an eye on the 2024 general elections, the big question is which party will benefit from the alliance!

It is good if either of the parties reap the benefit. But, what if the alliance benefit the YSR Congress and destroy the TDP at the grassroots?

What A Fall Mr Pawan Kalyan?

Share

For some reasons, Pawan Kalyan, is a proven failure leader in the State politics. His humiliating defeat in the recent Assembly elections in the State and the poor show that the party recorded, certifies him as a failure leader, not even to match his own brother Chiranjeevi.

Chiranjeevi launched Praja Rajyam Party in 2009 elections and had won 18 Assembly seats.

He had later merged his party with the Congress and became Union minister. He was then elected to the Rajya Sabha. Thus, he was a party president, MLA, Union Minister and Rajya Sabha member, all in a span of five years.

But, unfortunately, Pawan Kalyan failed at every stage. His party lost and he himself lost at the two places where he contested.

He shared the dais with Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister candidate in 2014 and travelled with Modi in the flight and helicopter all through.

Now, he had to share the dais with BJP state unit president Kanna Lakshminarayana, when he went back to the BJP, seeking alliance.

He was received by two Ministers at the Gannavaram airport and the chief minister (Chandrababu Naidu) waited for him outside his chambers to receive him.

This happened four years ago. He was the darling of Narendra Modi and the blue eyed boy of Chandrababu Naidu.

Things did not work well for him and he had to align with the Left parties in the 2019 unsuccessful elections.

Now, he would be at the mercy of the AP BJP chief to make any statement or hold any event henceforth, strictly following the alliance dharma.

What a fall Mr. Pawan Kalyan!?
