Tamil Baahubali All Set To Roll Without Telugu Heroes

The fetish of making a film like ‘Baahubali’ has caught many directors and star heroes in recent times. Though Bollywood and Tamil industry have already given a try and failed, still there are those filmmakers who want to try again. Surprisingly legendary director Maniratnam also joined this brigade.
All of a sudden, Mani sir has taken the onus of making historical novel Ponniyin Selvan into a film with the same title. The film deals with the story of Chola dynasty’s hailed emperor Rajaraja Chola’s earlier days in life before he became a great person. Guess what, our top director tried all his might and force to get a Telugu star aboard this project, but nothing worked out.
While the film has the likes of Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi from Kollywood brigade, it has Aishwarya Rai, Trisha and Keerthi Suresh as heroines. Veteran actors Amitabh Bachhan and Mohan Babu are playing crucial guest appearances. Maniratnam is said to have tried the likes of Mahesh, Ram Charan and even Prabhas for the role being played by Karthi and Jayam Ravi but somehow none agreed to do it.
With Kollywood considering this film as their own Baahubali, which is going to get rolled by December 12th this year in Thailand, many wonder why Telugu heroes missed the bus. Some say that they don’t have trust in Maniratnam who is delivering only flops these days.
Kaushal Back To TV Serials!

Kaushal Manda had created a storm with Bigg Boss season 2. Kaushal Army had become quite famous and he was popular for his stint in Bigg Boss. However, due to some personal reasons where his wife is ailing and due to lack of prominent offers in films, Kaushal is back to TV.
Kaushal was playing Aadi Shankar in Suryavamsham TV serial in Zee before leaving for Bigg Boss. He had quit the serial for Bigg Boss season 2. Now, Kaushal is back to same role in the serial. The channel too confirmed the development and has come up with a promo on Kaushal as he returns again as Aadi Shankar in Suryavamsham.
Interestingly, a netizen had commented on Kaushal’s post about his TV comeback. Netizen trolled Kaushal that he is returning to where he had started before Bigg Boss. And Kaushal took it in stride and replied him saying it doesn’t matter to him. It is yet again proved that the fame and popularity gained in Bigg Boss is not really translating into offers.
Below is the conversation between Kaushal and the netizen
Announcing his comeback to serial, Kaushal first wrote,”Adhi Shankar is back with a bang. Now u won’t miss me every day @ 10pm in zee.”
The netizen replied,”No film offers? Back to serial again where you started before bb. all the best.” Responding to him, Kaushal wrote back, “Acting Big or Small doesn’t matter dear. your loving people seeing you every day or not is the matter.”
Is Vijay D meddling with Puri’s script?

Till now, no hero who worked with director Puri Jagannath had ever interfered in his work. He had already declared that he would never ever work with such heroes like Pawan Kalyan who tried to meddle with his script.
Since he had worked with new heroes and those whose films have flopped of late, Puri Jagannath has so far not faced any such issues. Even in the film he had done with Nandamuri Balakrishna, he did not face any hurdles.
But now, the situation is different. He is now working with new and popular hero Vijay Devarakonda. It is an open secret that Vijay tries to involve in every aspect of the film he is acting – right from making to promotion and ensures that he has his own brand on the film.
In fact, he was the whole and sole for films like “NOTA” and “Dear Comrade” which, of course, bombed at the box office. Even in hit films like Geetha Govindam, Taxi Wala and Arjun Reddy, he played a major role in script and other aspects of film making, a fact which was admitted by the directors of these films.
The problem now is whether a seasoned director like Puri Jagannath will give any such free hand to Vijay to involve in the film making. When some media friends raised the same issue with Puri recently, he gave a stunning reply.
Puri said he would accept suggestions from heroes as long as they do not change the original story line. In fact, he prefers taking advices and suggestions from heroes in this regard.
In this connection, Puri cited the example of one of his hit films “Sivamani” starring Nagarjuna. He told the media friends that Nagarjuna had suggested several changes for Sivamani and he had followed the same. Similarly, in his latest film “Ismart Shankar,” too, Puri had taken suggestions from hero Ram and made certain changes.
That does not mean, Puri will compromise with the original story. “So, as long as this concept is followed, I don’t think I will have any problem with Vijay Devarakonda. But I get irritated if somebody asks him to change the entire story,” Puri explained the reporters.
Vijay Devarakonda puts a condition to his directors well in advance that he would involve in the script work. Since the project for his film “Fighter” was finalised, it indicates that Puri Jagannath has accepted his condition. But whatever changes Vijay might suggest in the film, the final output will have only Puri Jagannath brand. And there is no doubt about it!

Yamini Quit TDP Because Of Lokesh?

The resignation of former spokesperson of Telugu Desam Party Sadineni Yamini from the party a couple of days ago generated a big talk in the political circles.
Reason: She was considered to be a close confidante of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh.
Having been from the same community, her talkativeness brought her a lot of fame in the party and she was considered to be the party’s face in the social media and also electronic media.
So, why did Yamini resign from the party?
Though she said she had quit for personal reasons, she is learnt to have taken the decision because of Nara Lokesh, who continued to project himself as the successor of Naidu in the TDP, despite his loss in the elections and lack of acceptability among the people as a leader.
Apparently, she feared that Lokesh might take over the party reins in the party and that would be the end of the TDP in the coming days. That is why, she decided to come out of the TDP.
In fact, Yamini gave a hint to the reasons that forced her to come out of the TDP while speaking to media later. She said she was disgusted with the dynasty politics.
“The present-day politics, especially in regional parties, is dominated by caste and dynasty culture. Even Chandrababu Naidu is not exceptional to this culture. He is not above favouritism and nepotism. I don’t think I will get justice in such parties,” Yamini said, adding that that was precisely why she was joining the Bharatiya Janata Party which has no place for caste and dynasty culture.
She, however, said she had learnt a lot in politics under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu and she liked him personally.
“But I am not happy with other leaders of the party, who did not stand by me when there was an attempt assassinate my character by my opponents. Only Chandrababu came to my rescue and nobody else,” she said.
At the same time, Yamini found fault with the TDP for not being consistent in its stand on forging alliances.
“It is surprising to join hands with those who abused us in the past,” she said, indirectly referring to Naidu’s friendship with Pawan Kalyan.
Stating that there were a lot of differences within the TDP, Yamini said she was also a victim of such differences.
She expressed her unhappiness over the U-turn taken by Chandrababu Naidu on special category status, which she said was responsible for the defeat of the TDP in the elections.
Pic Talk: Ashok Galla’s striking look
The first look poster of Mahesh Babu’s nephew, Ashok Galla, from his debut film is out and he looks striking.
Ashok is seen in simple casual attire. The vintage car he is leaning on might be some sort of indication of the film’s theme and set-up.
This as-yet-untitled project is being directed by Sriram Adittya and will be bankrolled by Padmavathi Galla.
The film is set to be launched in a grand manner tomorrow and the makers have hit the right chord by releasing a captivating first look.
Notably, Ram Charan, Rana Daggubati, and Superstar, Krishna are gracing the opening ceremony tomorrow.
Modi, Rahul & Celebs React To The Ayodhya Verdict
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has welcomed and respected the Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya dispute, saying that the decision has been taken ‘amicably’ and will ‘further strengthen’ confidence in the judicial system.
Modi, while asking people to strengthen their Rashtra bhakti, said ‘the nation’s apex court’s verdict in Ayodhya case today must not be seen as either victory or loss. Does not matter if you are a Ram Bhakt or Rahim Bhakt, it’s time to strengthen Bharat bhakti’ on his Twitter. He requested every Indian to maintain peace, harmony and unity.
He also said, the decision of the Supreme Court is important and followed the legal process in resolving a dispute. ‘Each side was given enough time and opportunity to present its arguments. The temple of justice resolved the decades-old case amicably,’ Modi said.
A five-judge constitutional bench of the Supreme Court has delivered its verdict today and in a unanimous decision, the court directed that the disputed land is to be handed over to a Central Government trust to construct a temple and the Muslim party to be given a 5 acre land in Ayodhya for the construction of Mosque.
On the other hand, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi objected the timing of the Ayodhya verdict, which has coincided with the inauguration of the Kartarpur corridor. He said he was ‘deeply saddened’ at the ‘insensitivity’ shown at such a festive moment.
(Kartarpur Corridor is a border corridor between Pakistan and India and Sikh religious devotees travel from India to visit the Gurdwara in Kartarpur, 4.7 kilometres from the Pakistan-India border, without a visa).
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted that the verdict has come and now Indians have to maintain brotherhood, love and trust among them. Also, Rajinikanth reacted by saying that ‘everyone should respect the SC judgement for the development and progress of the country.
Irrespective of one’s religion, everyone should come together and work towards it.’ Many Bollywood celebrities like Madhur Bhandarkar, Koena Mitra, Huma Qureshi, Kangana Ranaut reacted to the verdict and respected the judgement.
If Not Me, Baba Should Win Title – Sreemukhi

Sreemukhi, who stood as runner-up in Bigg Boss Telugu season 3, admitted that losing the title is not a happy moment for her. Stressing that winning and losing are part and parcel of the game and life, Sreemukhi, however, said losing the Crown has disappointed her. She said she would like to see a woman contestant to win the title of Bigg Boss in future seasons.
Talking about her close-friend in the Bigg Boss house, Sreemukhi said it was Baba Bhaskar. She said she is missing Baba Bhaskar and the Bigg Boss house. Sreemukhi said initially she had felt that time was running fast and days were completing quickly whereas coming towards end, she felt that she is attached to the house, inmates and the house environment like Kitchen.
Sreemukhi said lack of communication with outside world, lack of mobile has made her focus on human emotions and relationships. She said it would feel bad when any contestant leaves the house.
When asked about who she had wanted to win the title if not her, pat came reply from Sreemukhi. Sreemukhi said she wanted Baba Bhaskar to win the title if not her. Sreemukhi said Baba Bhaskar is the male version of herself. She said both their personalities have very close resemblance. She said they both are foodies. Sreemukhi also recalled how Baba Bhaskar and she are interested in cooking and dancing. She said she felt happy that even audience have liked their jodi.
But taking many by surprise, it is Rahul Silpgunj who had walked away with the Bigg Boss crown.
Director Finalised For Asuran’s Telugu Remake

The Telugu remake of Dhanush and Vetrimaaran’s critically acclaimed Tamil crime drama ‘Asuran’ has been creating a lot of buzz in Tollywood circles. Venkatesh will be reprising Dhanush in the Telugu version.
Ever since the official announcement was made around a week ago, there has been a lot curiosity about the directive who will be helming this exciting village drama. Suresh Babu, who is co-producing the remake along with the film’s Tamil producer Kalaipuli S Thanu, has been on a hunt for the right director who can recreate the magic created by the Tamil version.
Now, the latest buzz in Film Nagar circles is that young filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi has been chosen to helm Asuran’s Telugu remake. Hanu has already begun working on the dialogues and other scripting formalities.
Even though Hanu is known for his impressive skills, he has been struggling with the back to back disasters of his last two movies, Lie and Padi Padi Leche Manasu. Needless to say, both Venky and Suresh Babu have taken a daring decision to rope in Hanu for the job.
Video Talk: Bad Introduction Of Heroine’s Sister
Excessive thinking and over-protective moves sometimes result in a stupid debut in the case of few star kids. The one, in this case, is Nupur Sanon, who happens to be the younger sister of heroine Kriti Sanon. And for her debut, Kriti is waiting from last three years almost, but finally made a poor choice.
After rejecting many Telugu offers that came their way and other big assignments, Nupur Sanon has picked a music video to mark her debut as an actress. Featuring alongside Akshay Kumar as his ex-lover, she appeared as a patient who meets with an accident. And the doctor who saves her is none other than her former BF.
Well, the song is titled Filhall, sung by a Punjabi singer named Bpraak and doesn’t sound much appealing in the first glimpse. And then, neither Akshay or Nupur make an impression as they don’t like a pair in the first place. Usually, glamorous debuts or beautiful appearances work for heroines, but this hospitalised debut isn’t appealing at all.
One wonders if the lack of offers made Kriti chose such a bad introduction move for her sister.
What about this expenditure, Mr Naidu?
A couple of days ago, Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu made a big hungama with his tweet, alleging that the YSRC government had spent a whopping Rs 15.65 crore on providing various facilities for the official bungalow of YSRC president and chief minster Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
It became a big news in the national media as well, as they always take Naidu seriously as they used to do when he was the chief minister. That was the media management he does.
But what Naidu conveniently ignored was the way the state government had splurged huge amounts on sprucing up his own residences, camp offices and bungalows when he was in power between 2014 to 2019.
If one looks at a series of government orders issued during his regime, one would be surprised that his government had spent more than Rs 26 crore on furnishings, repairs, renovations, purchases of various kind and security installations at his Jubilee Hills residence, Lake View Guest House, his Madinaguda house (in Hyderabad), besides his camp office in Vijayawada and his residence at Vundavalli.
Besides, another Rs 4.41 crore were spent for purchase of various items, including handicrafts from Lepakshi Emporium for Naidu’s camp office at No. 1, Janpath, New Delhi.
Anushka Is Bigger Than Many Heroes!
Film industry is a male-dominated industry in every aspect. Male actors get high remuneration compared to female actors be it in Bollywood or Tollywood. But Anushka is one of the top paid female actors in Indian Cinema industry.
Anushka’s pan India popularity is the reason why she was paid a whopping Rs. 3.5 Crore for her upcoming film Nissabdham.
The film’s budget is around Rs. 25 crore, but its theatrical rights will easily fetch around Rs. 30 crore from all languages. This is higher than many mid range stars.
Madhavan playing another lead in Nissabdham will ensure much higher prices for Tamil and Hindi versions as he is very popular in those markets.
Nissabdham has been making right buzz since its teaser’s release.
Won’t take salary till contract staff is paid: IAS
Senior IAS officer Praveen Prakash, principal secretary in the Andhra Pradesh chief minister’s office, was recently in the wrong news for “unceremoniously” shunting out former chief secretary L V Subrahmanyam from his post for defying the CMO.
Now, it appears Praveen Prakash wants to get into news for right reasons.
On Friday, he wrote a letter to his salary drawing and disbursing officer and assistant secretary in the General Administration Ch Rama Rao, asked him not to pay him salary till all the outsourced Class III and IV employees get their salaries for the month.
Apparently, the IAS officer has given the impression that he is feeling guilty of taking salary when the outsourced staff are suffering due to non-payment of salaries for months.
Most of the times, the outsourced staff are denied payments due to delay in preparation of bills and other reasons.
Praveen Prakash said the Class-3 and Class-4 employees are the real arms of the government.
“It is these employees who translate the vision of government at field level. Incidentally, most of them are hired through contract or through outsourcing method. It has been observed that the payment of salary of these contract/ outsourced employees is delayed substantially”, he said in the letter.
He said the basic human needs were very similar and the general level of savings of Class-3 & 4 employees are lesser than that of Class-1 & 2 employees.
“So, the necessity to pay Class-3 & 4 employees in the first week of the month is higher than Class 1 & 2 officers who can afford some delay in payment of salary,” he said.
Violence during RTC employees’ march in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Violence broke out during a protest by the employees of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), who are on strike, here on Saturday as hundreds of protestors managed to reach Hussain Sagar lake, defying police orders.
Police used batons and lobbed tear gas shells to disperse the protestors who removed the barricades to enter Tank Bund, the road on the banks of the lake connecting the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Some protestors including the activists of various parties supporting the employees, were injured in the lathicharge.
Though the police had barricaded Tank Bund and surrounding roads since morning, the protestors took the police by surprise by entering Tank Bund from both sides. They broke the barricades, sat on the road and raised slogans against the government for not accepting the demands of the employees, who have been on strike for more than a month now.
The protestors including women also tried to rush the lower Tank Bund road from adjoining localities. Tension prevailed as the police chased the protestors and used tear gas. Rapid Action Force (RAP) personnel were deployed to tackle the situation.
BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) president M. Kodandaram and leaders of Left parties, trade unions and student groups were arrested when they were heading towards Tank Bund.
Ashwathama Reddy, convenor of the employees’ Joint Action Committee (JAC), who called the march, was also arrested.
Tank Bund and other major roads surrounding Hussain Sagar lake were out of bounds for traffic since Saturday morning as police sealed the area to foil the march.
Tank Bund, Lower Tank Bund, Telugu Talli Flyover, Indira Park Road, Secretariat Road, Necklace Road, Khairatabad Flyover and all other roads leading to the lake were sealed by the police, which has denied permission for the protest. Hundreds of policemen were deployed around the lake to prevent protestors from reaching the area, a popular picnic spot.
NTR Park, Lumbini Park, Indira Park and Sanjivaiah Park around Hussain Sagar were closed for visitors as a precautionary measure.
The JAC of the TSRTC employees called for a ‘Chalo Tank Bund’ protest as part of their ongoing strike to press for their demands. The police, however, refused to give permission for the march on the ground that this could disturb law and order in the city.
Police took several leaders of the TSRTC employees and the opposition parties into preventive custody or placed them under house arrest across the state. The arrests were made since Friday evening.
Police also set up check posts at the entry points into Hyderabad to prevent TSRTC employees from entering the city.
The strike by over 48,000 TSRTC employees entered the 36th day on Saturday. Their demands include merger of TSRTC with the government.
However, taking a tough stand the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government rejected the demand for merger and even announced privatisation of half of the TSRTC routes.
Though the Telangana High Court on Thursday directed the state government to take the initiative to resolve the employees’ demands, no end to the stalemate appears in sight as both the sides are sticking to their stand.
