Catherine Finally Bags a Solo Heroine Film!

Share

Despite being blessed with sufficient acting potential and sumptuous looks, Catherine Tresa somehow stereotyped to second fiddle characters in Tollywood. She has acted in quite a few biggies such as Iddarammayilatho, Sarrainodu, Gautham Nanda, Nene Raju Nene Mantri etc. but in all of them, she played second heroine. Now, Catherine has finally bagged a solo heroine film.

She will play the solo female lead in the Telugu remake of hit Tamil film, “Kanithan”, a taut investigative thriller. She was the heroine in the Tamil film as well, and has been retained for the remake, to be directed by T N Santosh, the same director who made the original.

Young hero Nikhil will play the hero. Allu Arjun and Ravi Teja were in discussions to act in the remake at one point, but Nikhil came on board after the duo rejected the film. Interestingly, Nikhil’s soon to be released film, ‘Kirik Party’, is also a remake, of a hit Kannada film.Starring Nikhil and Catherine in lead roles, the remake of ‘Kanithan’ will be officially launched on January 19. The makers haven’t made any significant changes to the script.

Pawan’s Satires on Mudragada?

Share

A day after Kapu crusader Mudragada Padmanabham took a jibe at Pawan Kalyan by saying that he doesn’t know him and he doesn’t know who are the Kapu leaders sailing with Pawan & Janasena, here comes Pawan’s early morning tweets that indirectly took a dig at caste and division.

“The rise of caste division, caste polarisation & the power politics played around is truly alarming. It will not only hit the economic progress but also it will do irreversible damage to our society and to the collective psyche of our society,” Pawan wrote.Pawan further said that a senior jounralist has greeted him today with a quote that reads as, “Those who cannot defeat you character-wise, will attack you on the basis of your caste, race and wealth.”

Needless to say that these are Pawan’s indirect satires on Mudragada and other people who use caste as a tool get mileage, especially in the present-age politics.

From here on, Saturday will be a Biryani day

After private entities stepped into the education industry, the whole concept of ‘schooling’ has changed. Government schools, which once were the breeding grounds for great scholars and eminent personalities, have become the abode of education for the poor and underprivileged students in the present world.

Students in government schools often come from a background, where their parents go to work as a daily-labours. It is not surprising to know; few parents send their children to government schools solely because they get a good meal, thanks to the ‘mid-day’ meal program, apart from schooling.

Adding to the mid-day meal program, the Telangana Government announced that from here on, (veg) Biryani would be provided in Government schools every Saturday. According to the new proposal, the students would be served different kinds of Biryani; Peas Biryani, Chickpea Biryani, and Soybean Biryani, on every Saturday in the month.

The government already made clear about its initiatives in government schools. ‘Given the student’s background, we are trying our best to give them nutritious food, along with competitive education. We also introduced long grain rice in the mid-deal meal program. Improving educational infrastructure is also a part of our plans’, said an official from the Education Department.

Jagan may soon get out of CBI cases?

Share

If one were to go by the fate of various CBI cases in different states, it appears it is only a matter of time that YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, too, would get out of the alleged illegal assets cases being probed by the investigating agency in the Hyderabad court. In the latest case of the CBI pertaining to sensational Emaar-MGF scandal, the court gave clean chit to Koneru Madhu, son of ill-famed industrialist Koneru Rajendra Prasad.

The reason cited by the court is that the prosecution had failed to submit proper evidences in the case that could prove the guilt of Koneru Madhu, though it did not say the scandal had not taken place. In the same case, the CBI court gave clean chit to senior IAS officer L V Subrahmanyam on the same grounds. The CBI could not prove his role as the MD of the AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation and the court felt that the decision of land allotment was made by the cabinet and not the MD.

With regard to the sensational 2-G spectrum case in Tamil Nadu, too, the courts exonerated A Raja and Kanimozhi on the same grounds that the CBI could not produce proper evidences. With regard to Jagan case, too, several accused managed to wriggle out, because the CBI could not prove its charges against them. The lesson is that if the CBI has its way, the case against Jagan, too, could be struck off. It all depends on how the Opposition leaders manages the powers-that-be at the centre.

Will Mahesh Babu’s ‘Bharath Ane Nenu” and Allu Arjun’s “Naa Peru Surya” clash at the box-office on the same day in April? This has been worrying question for the fans of Mahesh and Bunny. The other day producer Lagadapati Sridhar gave a statement that they have come to an understanding and both films won’t clash.Despite his statement, the trade feels that all the release dates will be changed once ‘2.0″ announces its date.

Rajinikanth recently said the movie would come on 14th April. Since 14th April falls on Saturday, the team of ‘2.0″ is planning to change the release date again.Till clarity about ‘2.0’ comes, the release dates for Mahesh Babu and Bunny’s movies will not be locked.

The latest speculation is that Allu Arjun’s movie may advance its release to the second week of April. Because Bunny’s father Allu Aravind asked him not to clash with Mahesh Babu directly as it would give wrong signals.

Sexy Actress Still A Busy Bee

Share

Rakul Preet Singh had a pretty ordinary 2017 in Tollywood. None of her films except Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam clicked at the box office. She was also part of the year’s biggest disaster Spyder and featured in flop films like Jaya Janaki Nayaka and Winner. Her Tamil film Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru was a smash hit though. The dubbed version Khakee also fared well.

Success of TAO made Rakul the most wanted actress in Tamil cinema now that she doesn’t have to worry much about her declining graph in Tollywood. The sexy and super fit actress grabbed the female lead role in Suriya, Selva Raghavan’s upcoming film.

Rakul is part of a couple of upcoming interesting Telugu projects as well. Her Bollywood biggie Aiyaary directed by acclaimed Neeraj Pandey is set to hit the screens shortly. It is going to be a busy year for the Punjabi kudi.

Poonam vs Katthi: Tweet War Intensifies

Share

After Poonam Kaur calling critic Katthi Mahesh a fatso, the war of words between them has intensified. The critic-filmmaker posted on his Facebook that he would expose her. He said she got the ambassadorship of AP Handlooms on recommendation and not due to her talent.

He went a step further and asked her to shut her mouth but Poonam Kaur did not relent. She posted another big post today calling him a “fatso” once again. She asked him to breathe out negative energy. Her long post hardly made any sense and she surely has poor writing skills. Some feel she needs to put her thoughts out in a lucid manner.

It remains to be seen how the controversy will end. For now, they are both making headlines.

Agnyaathavaasi: Plagiarism Issue is Settled

Share

The plagiarism controversy surrounding “Agnyaathavaasi” has been settled. The agreement between T Series and the makers of “Agnyaathavaasi” has been closed amicably, say sources. It is said director Trivikram has not taken the entire plot of the French film “Largo Winch”, but has been inspired by some sequences.Since “Agnyaathavaasi” is a big movie that will also be dubbed in Hindi and telecast on Hindi channels, T-series will be losing a lot as it owns the remake rights of “Largo Winch”. Hence they sought compensation and Trivikram has agreed to pay for this, says the source.

This last-minute mess has caused a lot of worry to the producers of “Agnyaathavaasi” as they are about to intensify the promotions. They were enjoying good pre-release profits, but now they have been slashed.Since T-series backed out of going to the court and realized that the movie is not an exact copy, the producers are relieved. They are happy that they can now focus on promotions again.

The theatrical trailer is ready, but the team is in two minds about releasing it. However, if they don’t release the theatrical trailer, they will have to plan another last-minute promotional event.
