When Chandrababu Naidu was not extended an invitation to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Summit during Ivanka Trump’s visit, Nara Lokesh said it was an event organised by the Americans and hence, only the Chief Minister of the host State would be present. Perfect!But how can explain an invitation not being extended to Naidu for the World Telugu Conference in Hyderabad?

This is not a world Telugu conference but world Telangana conference where only Telangana art and literature will be showcased and judging by the mindset of the Telangana people, it would come as no surprise if they claim that they invented the Telugu language.

There are a few artistes from Andhra Pradesh who are attending the event. They should immediately back out from the event which is Telangana-centric because how can they do so when their Chief Minister himself hasn’t been extended due courtesy?This a snub to the Andhras and no self-respecting Andhra person should attend an event which has insulted its Chief Minister.

The fifth World Telugu Conference, the first one in the newly formed Telangana state, which began on Friday turned out to be just a show of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.Known for his oratorical skills, KCR cast his spell on the audiences at the inaugural of the conference at L B Stadium, which was jam-packed.

He spoke eloquently on the Telugu language, its literature, culture and tradition. However, most part of his speech was confined to praising himself and projecting himself as a Telugu scholar.What is more interesting is that the entire show was dominated by people from Siddipet and Medak districts, his native places. KCR, Harish Rao, Telangana Sahitya Academy chairman Nandini Sidha Reddy and media advisor K V Ramanachary and many others were from those two districts.

KCR praised how Siddipet had produced several scholars, pundits and litterateurs and even his guru, whom he had felicitated was also from Siddipet.Even on the second day of the conference at Telugu University auditorium, the organisers were seen felicitating scholars only from Medak district.

And the organisers instead of restricting the conference to literature and culture, spent most of the time in praising KCR and his government!

Chennai: Kamal Haasan on Saturday congratulated politician Rahul Gandhi who has taken over as the new Congress President. The veteran actor-filmmaker says he’s sure that Rahul would work and deserve the admiration like his elders. “Congratulations Mr. Rahul.G. Your seat does not define you but you can define your position. I have admired your elders. I am sure you would work and deserve my admiration too. All the strength to your shoulders,” Kamal wrote.

The process of his election as the new Congress chief was completed after the Central Election Authority President Mullapally Ramachandran handed over the Certificate of Election to Rahul Gandhi in a ceremony at Congress party headquarters.The ceremony was marked by loud celebrations as scorces of Rahul Gandhi supporters danced to upbeat tunes, raised slogans, burst crackers and distributed sweets outside the party office here.

Kamal, who is known for films like “Hey Ram” and “Vishwaroopam”, has previously shown desire to join politics. He has also hinted launching his party by January.On his birthday in November, Kamal announced the launch of a new app, which marked a step towards his political debut.

While Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu running from pillar to post in the centre for securing adequate funds and support for the completion of the prestigious Polavaram project, the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders back home are trying to needle him and provoke him with a view to get rid of the TDP from the NDA.

On Saturday, former Union minister and senior BJP leader Daggubati Purandeshwari, Naidu’s own sister-in-law, declared that the AP chief minister had proved his inability to complete the Polavaram project.“There is no point in asking for funds without showing proper accounts for the amount spent by the government. How can the state government blame the Centre when the state government cannot justify the expenditure in proportionate to the work done on ground?” she asked.

She accused Naidu of submitting fake accounts and seeking more funds.“The Centre has clearly written to the Centre as to how the state would justify the cost escalations for right and left canals, when the works were not done in the last two years,” she pointed out.BJP MLC Somu Veerraju, who doesn’t lose any opportunity to target Naidu, made a fresh attack on the latter saying if the BJP-TDP alliance breaks up, only Naidu would be held responsible for it.

“He never honoured the coalition dharma. In Kakinada elections, he gave only nine councillor seats to the BJP but fielded TDP rebels in as many as eight seats. That is why the BJP could win only one seat,” he alleged.
