Double Standards Of Mahesh, Bunny Producers!

Share

Like we said already, the release date confirmation of ‘2 Point O’ is leading to huge turmoil and cries in Tollywood. We have producers Bunny Vasu (who is related to Naa Peru Surya) and DVV Danayya (producer of Bharat Anu Nenu), crying foul on the way 2.0 is fixing release dates.

Bunny Vasu took to Facebook to comment that he respects decisions of 2.0 makers but changing of release dates in such hasty manner is affecting other regional movies including Na Peru Surya and Bharat Anu Nenu. He asked and requested Producers Council and Trade Bodies to intervene and find an amicable solution.

Similarly, DVV Danayya’s official twitter handle, DVV Ent has tweeted that they are upset with 2.0 changing their decision and pushing April 2018 releases into confusion. They too requested trade bodies to come up with an amicable solution.

Well, in the first place, Bunny Vasu’s home-like-home Geetha Arts is releasing Surya’s “Gang” movie and declared January 12th as release date. Needless to say, they are locking horns with Pawan’s Agnathavasi and Balayya’s Jaisimha. When there is no issue with GA pitching Gang against Telugu films, why are they crying foul now for Robo 2? Had Robo 2 been bought by Allu Arvind, would Bunny Vasu take the same stand then?

Cut to DVV Danayya, even after knowing that Naa Peru Surya is hitting cinemas on April 27th, this producer locked the same date for Mahesh’s Bharat Anu Nenu after missing out Sankranthi date due to a delayed shooting. Doesn’t DVV assume the pain of NPS distributors when he pitched BAN against it? Why these special cries now?

In the first place, if films have content and also hype through promotions, definitely all of them will work. We have already seen 2017 Sankranthi creating a storm at the box office with Khaidi No 150, Gauthamiputra Satakarni and Satamanam Bhavati raking best figures. So, why worry about Robo 2 aka 2 Point O now?

Anyway, with much of theatres in Allu Arvind, Dil Raju and Suresh Babu’s hand, no doubt, 2 Point O will not be getting as many theatres as Naa Peru Surya and Bharat Anu Nenu. There’s no need to worry!!

Rangasthalam Audio Deal: Highest Ever For Charan’s Film

Share

The audio rights of forthcoming period drama Rangasthalam has got a fancy deal. It’s been sold for Rs 1.5 Crore by Lahari Music which recently bought Mahesh Babu and Koratala Siva’s Bharat Ane Nenu (DSP’s musical).

This is highest ever audio deal for Ram Charan’s film. Set in 1985 milieu, Rangasthalam features Samantha as his love interest.

On the other hand, the film has done good pre-release business in trade circuits. Given that Charan’s last film Dhruva garnered good applause, Rangasthalam is cashing in on it.

As it is all set for release on March 29, let’s wait and see, how it would fare at the ticket windows.

Young Actress Not Scared Of Failure

Share

Actress Alia Bhatt was “heartbroken” after the “Shaandaar” debacle. But she says she is now more prepared to face failure.

The daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt talked about the ups and downs in her career with superstar Shah Rukh Khan in an episode of “Lux Golden Divas- Baatein with the Badshah”, read a statement.

“Touch wood, 90 per cent of my films fared well at the box office. But there have been one failure, and because of that failure, I am more calm… Some strange reason. ‘Shaandaar’ didn’t work at the box office. I was heartbroken. I could not believe it,” Alia said.

“I turned to my father. He was the only person I was speaking to and then I went on a holiday solo to mourn the loss.”

The “Udta Punjab” star added: “I felt terrible, but after that I felt ‘ho gaya’ (it’s done). The bandage has been ripped. I have faced my first failure, and I will be ready for whatever comes. Getting up after the failure is very different. My father sent me this poster with Frank Sinatra’s quote ‘The best revenge is massive success’.”

Alia has delivered laudable performances in films like “Highway”, “2 States”, “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania” and “Kapoor and Sons”. Only “Shaandaar” turned out to be a damp squib at the box office.

At present, she is busy with Meghna Gulzar’s “Raazi”, scheduled to release on May 11 ,2018.

When will Jagan Shift To Dhoti?

Share

YSRC party president Jagan Reddy might have been getting tremendous response from the people for his marathon Praja Sankalpam “padayatra,” which is almost nearing a month, but they are still not able to forget the memories of his father late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, who had gone on a similar padayatra more than 14 years ago.

Jagan realised it when he interacted with the people during his padayatra in Kurnool district on Sunday.

A farmer, Subhash Reddy, asked Jagan when he would start wearing the dhoti on the lines of his father YSR.

“When we see you, we recall Rajasekhar Reddy garu. He is still in our hearts. But we wish to see you in his real looks. Please wear dhoti so that we can see YSR in you,” he said.

Jagan was a little embarrassed, but told the farmer that he would definitely wear dhoti, when he grows a little old.

“I am still young and it looks odd if I wear dhoti. When I reach a certain age, I will definitely wear it,” he said.

However, the farmer’s request clearly reflected the feelings of the common man.

The image of YSR wearing a white shirt and dhoti with the khanduwa adorning his head and addressing people as “Namasthe Chellemma, Namathe Tammudu and Namasthe Akkayya..” is still fresh in the minds of the people.

They are yet to identify Jagan with YSR both in terms of affection and attire. It is better if Jagan adopts some new strategies to make the people get the image of YSR on seeing him.
