Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s recent visit to Warangal to lay foundation stone for mega textile park and address a massive public meeting might be a huge success, but it resulted in serious differences within the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi.The three-decade old rivalry between two senior TRS MLAs – Konda Surekha and Errabelli Dayakar Rao, surfaced once again with the former on Wednesday accusing the latter of spreading rumours about her resignation from the party.

Both the leaders have defected from two different parties – Konda Surekha from YSR Congress party and Errabelli from the Telugu Desam Party. Both are struggling to retain their identity in the TRS and trying to gain hold in the party.During the recent visit of KCR to Warangal, both Errabelli and Konda factions tried to put up a big show by mobilising crowds.The area where KCR laid foundation stone for the textile park falls under Konda constituency, but the crowd mobilisation was mostly done by Errabelli Pradeep Rao, brother of Dayakar Rao.

After the meeting, there was a strong speculation in the media circles that Pradeep would replace Surekha in Warangal (East) constituency in the next elections and that he had got an assurance from KCR to that effect.The reports also said Surekha might quit the TRS and return to the Congress, her parent party.This has angered Surekha. “There is no question of leaving the TRS which has given me second political life. Errabelli is trying to defame us and spreading rumours against us. We shall not allow Errabelli to gain any upper hand in the district,” she said.

HYDERABAD: A day after cross-country woman biker Sana Iqbal died in a car crash, her mother has alleged that it was a “pre-planned murder” and blamed Sana’s husband, saying he was trying to portray it as an accident.The police, to whom Sana’s mother has complained alleging that the incident was a pre-planned murder, however, maintained that it was a road accident.

29-year-old Sana Iqbal, who undertook a solo expedition to raise awareness about suicide and depression, died in the car crash while her husband, Abdul Nadeem, suffered injuries in the accident which happened early in the morning on Tuesday. Sana and Nadeem were heading home in Hyderabad’s Tolichowki area at the time, the police said.

Nadeem, who was driving the car, lost control and the vehicle rammed the median on Hyderabad’s outer Ring Road, Narsingi Police Station Inspector GV Ramana Goud said. A case was later registered for causing death by negligence and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the police said.

However, Sana’s mother claims that her daughter has been murdered, and that it was deliberately being projected as an accident. “Yesterday, he (Sana’s husband) planned it in such (a way)…and (later) gave it a turn as an accident. But, it was a pre-planned, well-organised and a cold-blooded murder,” Sana’s mother alleged.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Madhapur zone) Vishwa Prasad told news agency PTI that as per the preliminary investigation, it was a road accident and there was no suspicion over it. “Her husband has also suffered severe injuries after their car hit the median and turned turtle,” the senior police officer said. He, however, said they will also verify the allegations being made by Sana’s mother.

Inspector Goud said as per their investigation it was an accident. He said Sana’s mother has complained to the police alleging it was a pre-planned murder and that they have told her and other family members to produce any evidence of it.Last month, Sana Iqbal had sent a message from her phone to a few friends and family members purportedly saying her life was in danger and that her husband or in-laws should be held responsible in case she died of a heart attack or a brain stroke, the police official said.

“There may have been some dispute between Sana and her husband. The message was sent at that time and it has no connection with the road accident,” Mr Goud said.The Hyderabad-based rider hit the headlines a few years ago when she undertook the solo motorcycle expedition across the country.The focus of her campaign was to educate people, particularly students, against committing suicide. She was also a professional trainer and a student of psychology, and had addressed thousands of students in colleges

At the opening of Jana Sena party office, Pawan Kalyan introduced the chief guest of the event, Mr. Nimmala Veeranna. The name sounds pretty unfamiliar, right? Pawan himself told media who Veranna was, and why he chose him as his chief guest.

For quite some time, the YSR Congress party has been attacking Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for engineering defection of as many as 22 of its MLAs into the TDP and even giving four them cabinet berths.

Many times, YSRC party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy demanded the resignation of the defected MLAs and challenged them to face the by-elections again. However, there was no response from any of them. The TDP president, too, remained unmoved to the demand.

On Tuesday, one of the defected MLAs and presently a minister in chandrababu Naidu cabinet Adinarayana Reddy made a sensational statement.“We resigned from our MLAs posts on the same day of defecting to the TDP. But the resignation letters are pending with the Speaker. It is his discretion whether to accept them or not. How can we force them to accept the resignations?” he asked.

Adinarayana Reddy further said he was prepared to face the by-elections if his resignation was accepted and was confident that he would win the seat again.The minister’s statement will definitely land Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao in an embarrassing situation.The Speaker never said he had received the resignations of the defected YSRC MLAs. If they had really resigned, one wonders why Kodela had not acted on them – either rejecting or accepting.Now, the onus lies on the Speaker to prove his sincerity by taking a decision on the resignation letters.

After YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy met Eenadu group chairman Ch Ramoji Rao a couple of days ago to seek the latter’s blessings for the success of his marathon padayatra commencing on November 6, the party leaders went on defensive.Party sources say there is no political significance to Jagan meeting Ramoji and that it is just part of seeking the support of media for giving extensive coverage to his padayatra.

Apparently, Jagan’s political advisor Prashant Kishor has advised him not to distance himself from the local and national media, since media management is a crucial part of the political management.The strategist is learnt to have told Jagan to keep meeting media heads once in a while, especially during crucial periods like his padayatra and elections, so that they would take him seriously.

“Irrespective of the political stands of the media houses, Jagan should make it a point to have close rapport with at least editors and senior reporters so that they would have some soft corner towards him,” the sources said.YSRC sources are now saying that meeting Ramoji Rao is just a part of Jagan’s latest political strategy.In the next few days, Jagan will be meeting senior journalists, editors and owners of various other media houses as well to dispel the rumours that Jagan had a secret understanding with Ramoji Rao.

Now, the question arises whether Jagan would meet Andhra Jyothy managing director Vemuri Radhakrishna as well. It should happen if one has to go by the version of the YSRC sources.“Why not, we cannot deny the possibility. Jagan might meet not only Radhakrishna but also Ravi Prakash of TV9, Narendra Chowdary of NTV and B R Naidu of TV5,” sources said.
