Back to back commercial successes of ‘Jil’ and ‘Loukyam’ have put Gopichand back in Box Office race. He is presently working for new movie titled ‘Soukyam’ in direction of AS Ravi Kumar Chowdary with story, dialogues from Sreedhar Seepana and screenplay provided by Kona Venkat, Gopi Mohan. Just like humorous family entertainment and action in ‘Loukyam,’ we heard that ‘Soukyam’ is also a thoroughly hilarious subject with Regina as heroine, produced by Bhavya Creations of V Ananda Prasad.

To remind here, a decade ago the combination of Gopichand and AS Ravi Kumar Chowdary delivered a super hit film ‘Yagnam’ and they promise to repeat a similar hit this time too. One more observation is, all those movie titles from Gopichand which end with ‘M’ have proved to be lucky enough for blockbusters like ‘Lakshyam, Varham, Jayam, Yagnam, Ranam, Loukyam, Souryam’ and now ‘Soukyam’ to prove it right.

Chowdary also proved his ability to catch the audience pulse providing a hit debut for Sai Dharam Tej with ‘Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham.’ All in all, ‘Soukyam’ appears to be a hit combination and there is positive energy around with release date announced as December 25.

Director Sreenu Vaitla has been slapped with a harassment case following his wife and fashion designer Roopa Vaitla complained to Banjara Hills Police on Monday. Banjara Hills police had filed 498 B against Sreenu Vaitla. Apparently, Roopa had complained to police that Sreenu had been harassing her for dowry. However, after a dramatic turn, Roopa withdrawn her complaint on same day by drawing down the curtains.

For the past few days, rumours are rife that Sreenu tortured his wife after which she approached few industry big wigs to resolve their family issue. Things said to have gone out of control as big wigs failed to settle family issue and this led Roopa to approach police. With Sreenu’s recent offing Bruce Lee biting the dust without a trace, this also said to have ignited the rift between Sreenu and wife Roopa. However, the couple now seem to have called for truce.

Sreenu and Roopa have three daughters who were appeared in films like Dookudu, Baadshah in a blink-and-miss cameos. Hope the couple will ditch their differences and move on.

While re-shoot of certain scenes and VFX works are still under progress, the makers of Akhil are planning to release on the film on 11th November so that the crucial Deepavali festival will not be missed.The makers missed to bring the movie to the theatre for Dussera festival when Akhil Akkineni’s father Nagarjuna was not satisfied with the way some scenes of the movie were shot.

On the insistence of Nagarjuna, director Vinayak and producer Nithin had agreed to re-shoot them and changed the release date.

Although November is not considered to be a suitable time for big movies, the makers want to cash in on the Deepavali festival mood. Tentatively November 11 has been fixed as the D-day for Akhil’s maiden movie as lead hero.

Akhil was extremely upset over the postponement of the movie but he is now gearing up to promote the film aggressively once again and tour all the towns and cities in Telugu states as well as Bangalore and Chennai.

Hero Venkatesh will not be remaking “Srimanthudu” anyway, because he works in Telugu industry not anywhere. But this is about another producer who goes by the same name.

South’s popular producer Rockline Venkatesh suddenly appeared in Bollywood columns post the disaster of “Lingaa”. He has made “Bajrangi Bhaijan” with Salman Khan and that turned out to be a super duper hit. After the success of this film, Venkatesh is looking forward for happening scripts such that he could make them into movies with Salman. Reports have that he is trying to acquire rights of “Srimanthudu” from Eros International to remake it.

Sharing his thoughts, Venkatesh rejected that he has idea of remaking this Mahesh Babu starrer. “Srimanthudu is something that suits South audiences, but won’t match Hindi sensibilities. This story won’t work in Bollywood. For Salman Khan, surely it won’t do any good. I’m not at all thinking about remaking this film. In fact, I’ve two more scripts getting readied for him, but they are fresh and original”, he said.

We have to see if not Salman Khan, which other Bollywood hero will pick Srimanthudu, while Venakatesh  might have opinion that the story won’t work.

Mahesh Babu is currently busy with Brahmotsavam directed by Srikanth Addala. But the real deal coming up from Mahesh is the high budget movie directed by AR Murugadoss. This will be Mahesh’s next film to hit the floors.

Mahesh Babu has given his nod to the storyline narrated by Murugadoss who is currently developing it into full fledged script. As per the buzz this film is going to be a message oriented movie in the lines of Tagore, Oke Okkadu, Bharateeyudu and Aparichitudu.

Mahesh hasn’t done such heavy duty films after Nijam. Murugadoss is one of the very few directors who have the maturity levels to deal with such themes. This is going to be made on a very high budget. Any budget seems to be in the reach when a superstar from Telugu cinema and a star director from Tamil cinema teams up for a bilingual.

Mahesh always preferred to work with Telugu directors in spite of being chased by top directors from Tamil cinema industry.

Except SJ Surya no Tami director has impressed Mahesh until Murugadoss came up with this script.
