Ace producer Dil Raju always eyes on big films and most of the times he made it big with their distribution. And he has this knack of picking films that work, either due to the story or the current situation, while he distances from films that don’t have a hit aura.

Recently Dil Raju acquired the Nizam rights of Jr NTR’s “Jai Lava Kusa” movie for a whopping 21+ crores while the odds indicate that it’s rather substantial investment indeed. Though a blockbuster like “Janata Garage” collected only 19 crores in its final run, why Raju invested two crores extra for this movie? That too with KS Ravindra (Bobby) lacking that hit-track, is Raju’s gamble safe?

Actually, after getting a hit talk, Janata Garage collected 17 crores share in just two weeks. Now that if Jai Lava Kusa gets similar ‘mixed’ talk and the first day, and goes on getting that positive buzz over the next few weeks, collecting similar revenues will not be a tough job. Trade analysts are however saying that, even if Jai Lava Kusa gets below-average talk, Raju will recover nearly 15+ crores in the first weekend itself. This is because of the increased shows and also increased screen count.

Almost all of Raju’s lease-theatres are removing films like Fidaa and others to screen Jai Lava Kusa for the first three days. Cities like Hyderabad are going to screen most JLK shows on Day 1, as Multiplexes and Single screens are competing to get this film. If 15 crores are recovered in the first weekend itself, then regaining that balance six crores even with a flop talk is also possible.

For now, we have to say that Dil Raju’s investment is super safe. Jai Lava Kusa is hitting cinemas on September 21st.

The highly anticipated theatrical trailer of ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’ has just landed and it gives mixed vibrations. The story looks kind of cliched and done to death but the commercial elements and technicalities impress.
